YES Adds Cable Distributors for 3-D Mariners-Yankees Games, 7/10 & 7/11

YES has brought in seven cable providers to join DirecTV in airing two New York Yankees-Seattle Mariners games in 3-D TV. The only YES announcer who will work the games will be analyst Ken Singleton. Splitting the play-by-play will be the Mariners’ Dave Niehaus and Dave Sims as this will be a split FSN Northwest/YES production. You can take a look at the press release.

Hall of Famer Dave Niehaus and Dave Sims To Handle Play-by-Play, Ken Singleton to Provide Analysis
NEW YORK, July 7, 2010 – Blue Ridge Communications, Cablevision, Comcast, Cox, Service Electric Broadband Cable, Time Warner Cable and Verizon FiOS have joined DIRECTV in distributing the YES Network’s historic July 10 and 11 3D Yankees-Mariners telecasts from Safeco Field in Seattle.  The July 10 and 11 games will be the first Major League Baseball games to be televised in 3D. DIRECTV and Panasonic will be presenting sponsors of the two 3D telecasts.
The Saturday, July 10 3D game telecast will begin at 10:00 p.m. ET, and the Sunday, July 11 3D game telecast will begin at 4:00 p.m. ET. YES will also produce traditional HD telecasts of both games.
Dave Niehaus, the Mariners play-by-play man who is also a member of the broadcasters wing of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, will handle play-by-play duties for the 3D telecasts along with fellow Mariners voice Dave Sims. YES’ Ken Singleton will provide color commentary.
