Fox Television Networks Plan Big Promotional Campaign Around Super Bowl XLVIII

Ok. This is the first of four Fox/Fox Sports/Fox Sports 1 Super Bowl XLVIII-centric posts. Yesterday, the Fang’s Bites inbox received the Fox Super Bowl press bundle and four announcements were attached. Those for announcements will be posted here.

The first announcement deals with the promotional campaign the Fox TV networks on both broadcast and cable will deploy for the Super Bowl. There will be Super Bowl-related programming plus shows that will air live from New York/New Jersey in anticipation of the Big Game on Sunday, February 2, 2014.

Fox, Fox Business Network, Fox Deportes, Fox News Channel, Fox Sports 1, FX, FXM, FXX, MundoFox, National Geographic Channel and the local Fox affiliates in New York, Philadelphia and Hartford will be involved in this promotional campaign.

Here’s what you’ll be seeing on the Fox networks during Super Bowl Week.

Broad Effort Includes Nightly Primetime Opens Airing Simultaneously Across Multiple Fox Channels

New York – As Super Bowl XLVIII approaches, the boldest and coldest in history, 21st Century Fox unveils its comprehensive promotional strategy for what is annually the highest-rated and most-watched television program in the United States. 21st Century Fox is utilizing its multitude of television and digital assets to promote Super Bowl XLVIII, which airs Sunday, Feb. 2, live and exclusively from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, on FOX – and for the first time ever in the U.S., in Spanish on FOX Deportes. Super Bowl XLVIII, hosted jointly by the states of New York and New Jersey, is the first Super Bowl ever played in an open-air, cold-climate stadium.

The 21st Century Fox Super Bowl promotional effort is led by coordinated Super Bowl-themed opens simultaneously kicking off the evening’s primetime programming during Super Bowl Week across multiple Fox channels, including FOX, FOX Sports 1, select FOX Sports Regional Networks, FOX Deportes, FOX News Channel, FOX Business Network, FX, FXX, FXM, National Geographic Channel and MundoFox. The first, an original Super Bowl-themed musical sketch featuring THE SIMPSONS and animated versions of FOX Sports’ Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Curt Menefee and Michael Strahan, airs Sunday, Jan. 26 at 8:00 PM ET/PT. Fox channels also offer a variety of unique football-themed entertainment programs and Super Bowl-themed shows, opens, bumpers, promos, program marathons and news coverage dedicated to the game in the week preceding the game. Key to live weekday coverage of Super Bowl Week is FOX Sports’ three-story studio facility and broadcast compound in Times Square, between 46th and 47th Streets. Designed to be a fully functional, 40’ by 40’ climate controlled television studio with iconic views of the Crossroads of the World, it is able to accommodate a variety of programs from a wide assortment of Fox channels and local stations and affiliates including FOX Sports, FOX Sports 1, FOX Deportes, FOX News Channel and WNYW-TV (NY).
