How Long Have You Been Working For CBS, Greg Gumbel?

I’m stuck at work so I didn’t see this, but plenty of others did and reacted to it on Twitter. After the exciting North Carolina-Washington game, NCAA Tournament studio host Greg Gumbel forgot what network he was working for and threw everyone for a loop. Thanks to Mocksession.com/Bubbaprog for this video.

Slipups can happen. I’m not going to kill Greg for this. He’s one of the better studio hosts and mistakes can happen especially after hosting for seven out of the last nine days.

Old school fans will remember that Greg was one of the original SportsCenter anchors and went to CBS in the late 1980’s, leaving for NBC in 1994 after CBS lost the NFL contract, then returning to the Tiffany Network in 1998. He did do a guest spot on SportsCenter for one night with Craig Kilborn during the 25th Anniversary of ESPN, but I don’t think that was enough to make Greg think of ESPN earlier today.
