Overnights for NCAA Tournament Selection Show Down

Continuing a downward trend from the last six years, the overnight ratings for the NCAA Men’s Tournament Selection Show were down from the previous year. According to Austin Karp, the Assistant Managing Editor of Sports Business Daily, the overnight was 4.4 which is down from last year.

In addition, the trend since 2005 has been going down steadily. Austin goes backward starting with this year.

That is not what CBS needs especially going into a new contract with Turner Sports. While there was high interest in the selections on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, the ratings have gone down considerably. Perhaps a format change is in order.
