Big Ten Network To Air Seven Winter Conference Championships

From swimming & diving to gymnastics, Big Ten Network will be all over the conference’s winter championships starting this week and going into April. Big Ten Network to Air Seven Winter Championships in HD

Network to highlight winners in gymnastics, swimming and diving, indoor track and field, wrestling

CHICAGO – The Big Ten Network will televise seven winter Big Ten Championships, beginning Feb. 26 with the Big Ten Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships. The schedule also features men’s swimming and diving, wrestling, men’s and women’s indoor track and field and men’s and women’s gymnastics.

The Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Gymnastics Championships and the second day of the Big Ten Wrestling Championships will be carried live, and all seven championships will be produced in high definition.

Coverage begins at noon ET on Saturday, Feb. 26, with the Big Ten Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships from Indiana University.

The Big Ten Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships will air at 10 AM ET on Sunday, March 6, from Minneapolis. Later that afternoon, the second day of the Big Ten Wrestling Championships will be carried live at 4 PM ET from the campus of Northwestern University.

The Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships will air back-to-back, starting at 2 PM ET on Saturday, March 12. The University of Illinois will host the men’s event with the women’s event taking place in West Lafayette, Ind., to be televised at 4 PM ET.

The Big Ten Network will televise the Big Ten Women’s Gymnastics Championships live at 3 PM ET on Saturday, March 19, from the University of Minnesota.  The network will have live coverage of the Big Ten Men’s Gymnastics Championships on consecutive nights at 8 PM ET on Friday, April 1, and Saturday, April 2, from Champaign, Ill.

The Big Ten currently has 40 teams ranked in the top 25 nationally in Olympic sports programs for the winter season, including top-20 programs in men’s gymnastics (No. 2 Illinois, No. 5 Penn State, No. 6 Michigan, No. 7 Minnesota, No. 8 Ohio State, No. 9 Iowa), women’s gymnastics (No. 8 Michigan, No. 15 Ohio State, No. 16 Illinois, No. 17 Minnesota, No. 18 Penn State), men’s swimming and diving (No. 11 Ohio State, No. T13 Indiana, No. T13 Michigan, No. 15 Minnesota), women’s swimming and diving (No. 13 Minnesota, No. 14 Indiana, No. 15 Michigan, No. 17 Wisconsin, No. 18 Ohio State, No. 19 Purdue), men’s indoor track and field (No. 5 Indiana, No. 8 Penn State, No. 16 Ohio State), women’s indoor track and field (No. 19 Penn State, No. 20 Indiana) and wrestling (No. 2 Iowa, No. 3 Penn State, No. 5 Minnesota, No. 10 Michigan, No. 12 Wisconsin, No. 16 Northwestern, No. 20 Illinois).
