I joined in the second inning of Game 2 of the Colorado-Arizona game during which Heather Catlin and tool Matt Dagostino were discussing the forced change in uniform of the Rockies as the Diamondbacks chose to wear their black unis. Colorado had worn their black unis for their entire hot streak and the only time they didn’t wear them was during their only loss to Arizona, ironically (isn’t it ironic? Don’t you think?) in the last weekend of the regular season. Since then, the Rockies had worn black during their Wild Card playoff game and when they swept Philadelphia, so a lot of time was spent on this issue.
Heather is looking rather hot tonight. Matt is Matt. That’s the best I can say about him. Kelly Cross is back at the Instant Messenger desk lovely as always. By the way, if you IM her, give her a lot of smileys. I think she likes the smileys, especially from the new version of AOL Instant Messenger.
Because the TBS studio guys will head to Colorado for Games 3, 4 and possibly, 5, they had their last segment on Hot Corner. Ernie Johnson, Jr., Frank Thomas, Cal Ripken and Ron Darling seemed to be much more comfortable working with each other and were looser on the set tonight.
As for the MLB.com segment from New York, Vinny Micucci and a tool from Baseball Prospectus have to go. They’re awful. John Marzano is really good. Put Casey Stern there and this would be much better. Micucci and the Baseball Prospectus guy seem to be having a two way conversation while Marzano sits there and wonders why these tools are on the set. Not good online viewing. Plus the guy from Baseball Prospectus needs to lose 50 pounds.
I wait for the Atlanta portion to return and none too soon. Another update later.
