Analyst Michael Strahan on expectations for Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers: “As good as Aaron Rodgers was last year, he’s going to even better this year. This is the year you are going to say ‘He’s as good as Drew Brees, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.’ Aaron Rodgers had to follow Brett Favre so he’s had to wait a little to emerge into that elite quarterback category.”

New NFL rules analyst Mike Pereira on the umpiring moving from the defensive side to the offensive side: “It’s the biggest change in my 12 years with the league. There are three huge advantages. The umpire is safe, they can see offensive holding so much better now and the field is clear. It’s not a rule, it’s just the mechanics of officiating and they can tweak it as the season goes along.”
——————————————————————–
Co-host Terry Bradshaw on a major weakness with the Dallas Cowboys: “If I were the quarterback in Dallas, I’d be upset. There’s nothing that unnerves you more than new offensive lineman. It’s like a good marriage, you need trust and communication.”
——————————————————————–
Analyst Jimmy Johnson on his impression of Sam Bradford: “He’s the best quarterback to come out in the last couple of the years.  The best.”
——————————————————————–
Analyst Michael Strahan on what Donovan McNabb brings to the Redskins: “McNabb is the anti-Albert Haynesworth. It’s about the team, it’s not about him. Washington has always been a soap opera with no stability. McNabb gives them that instant stability.”

NFL Insider Jay Glazer on the Vikings search for a wide receiver and the latest with Vincent Jackson’s hold-out: “The Vikings are in the market to upgrade at the wide receiver position.  They’ve had discussions about Chargers hold-out Vincent Jackson.  They’re also deciding whether or not to bring back Javon Walker.  On Tuesday they’re going to bring in four different receivers including Reggie Brown, former first-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles and former Dallas Cowboy Sam Aiken. Right now Vincent Jackson is slated to miss three games on suspension and another three games for reserve-did not report list.  There is a hearing this week with the NFLPA to decide if he gets traded, do those last three games get wiped out.  If not, obviously that’s going to make it harder for a team like Minnesota to trade for him and miss him for six games.  His side is content with telling people that he will sit out the year because he’s going to miss these games and they don’t want to get him hurt playing for about $400,000 or $500,000 but the history of the NFL tells us a player sitting out the entire year is unlikely.  Sean Gilbert (Redskins in ’97) and Joey Galloway (Seahawks ’99) have sat out the entire year but you really have to see if Jackson will follow through and not play.”
——————————————————————–
Analyst Michael Strahan on Justin Tuck stepping up as the leader of the Giants defense:  “I had a conversation with Justin Tuck this off-season and I said ‘Justin, the Giants miss leadership. You have to step in and take that role.’ I know he knows he needs to take that role and I think he will. The Giants are also looking at Keith Bullock to step in as a leader which is natural for Keith. Justin is a little bit out of his comfort level but he’s the face of the Giants defense now and has to step into that leadership role if the Giants expect to win.”
