ESPNU to Debut Hour-long Special, Alabama All-Access, on Aug. 18
ESPNU and ESPN will showcase the defending national champions, the University of Alabama football program, in the hour-long College Football Special: Alabama All-Access Wednesday, Aug. 18, at 7 p.m. ET on ESPNU (re-air, midnight) and Thursday, Aug. 19, at 8 p.m. on ESPN. The Crimson Tide is providing ESPN with unprecedented access into the inner workings of a college football program, by giving viewers a first-time look at practices, team meetings and campus facilities for eight days, that began on Aug. 3.
Excerpts from the special will be featured on nightly half-hour prime-time shows Monday, Aug. 9 -Friday, Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPNU (re-air, midnight). These shows will include segments devoted to the analysis of the Crimson Tides’ offense, defense and special teams.
SportsCenter will debut short clips of Alabama All-Access starting Friday, Aug. 13, and continuing daily through Wednesday, Aug. 18.
Each episode will be presented in the players’ and coaches’ own words as Alabama prepares to defend its national title. In 2009-10, head coach Nick Saban led Alabama to its 13th national championship with a perfect 14-0 record, defeating Texas 37-21 in the 2010 BCS National Championship Game at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.
ESPN will capture aspects of the Crimson Tide on and off the field, going behind the scenes and delving into what makes this program run on a daily basis. The series will also explore the experience of living in the heart of Crimson Tide country: Tuscaloosa.
