The Nielsen Wire blog notes that skiing is topping Olympic viewership (not figure skating?) while hockey is the most discussed Olympic sport online.

Nielsen also states that 13% of those viewing the Olympic Opening Ceremony were also surfing the net.

Joanne C. Gerstner of the New York Times says U.S. border towns used to seeing CBC’s coverage of the Olympics find they’re missing out as many viewers don’t have CTV.

Bob Raissman of the New York Daily News says the media with the exception of the Golf Writers Association of America is kowtowing to Tiger Woods.

Phil Mushnick of the New York Post is enjoying Mike Emrick calling the hockey during the Olympics.

Larry Brooks of the Post says hockey is being treated well by the networks of NBC.
