With the 2nd Round of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs starting today, NBC Sports Group has unveiled its announcers for the four matchups that will result in the Final Four for the Conference Finals.
Once again, Kenny Albert and Pierre McGuire will be workhorses as they’ll both work two series. Albert will be calling the New York Rangers on MSG Radio and also call the other Eastern Conference Semifinal as Tampa Bay takes on Montreal.
McGuire will work the Chicago-Minnesota series with Doc Emrick and Ed Olczyk as well as the New York Rangers-Washington Capitals series with John Forslund.
Olczyk will miss the two games of the Blackhawks-Wild series as he’ll work the Kentucky Derby as a handicapper for NBC this Saturday.
So here are the announcing assignments for each series:
Eastern Conference Semifinals
Montreal vs. Tampa Bay — Kenny Albert/Joe Micheletti
New York Rangers vs. Washington — John Forslund/Pierre McGuire
Western Conference Semifinals
Anaheim vs. Calgary — Dave Strader/Brian Engblom
Chicago vs. Minnesota — Mike Emrick/Eddie Olczyk/Pierre McGuire
