What is it with analysts and prostitutes? There was Greg Anthony who was arrested last month in a Washington, DC police sting and was subsequently suspended by CBS and Turner.
And now, there’s NFL Network analyst Warren Sapp who was arrested in Phoenix for soliciting a prostitute early this morning, then charged with assaulting two women.
According to TMZ, the women told police they went to Sapp’s hotel room as escorts, then an argument broke out over money. The women allege that the argument turned physical and spilled into the hallway. Police say the women had injuries “consistent with a struggle.” Police say Sapp admitted to calling the women but denied getting physical with them.
Sapp was originally suspended indefinitely without pay, but that changed.
According to Alex Riethmiller, Vice President of Communications for NFL Network: “Warren Sapp’s contract has been terminated and he no longer works for NFL Network.”
Sapp had been with NFL Network since 2008 and made appearances on NFL GameDay Morning and other network shows.
Back in 2010, Sapp had been booked on domestic battery charges, but they were later dropped and in 2014, he was arrested on another domestic battery case.
More details as they become available.
