Wholesale Changes for the 2014 NFL on CBS Announcing Crews

After word leaked this week that Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts would receive a well-deserved promotion to become the “B” announcing team, CBS Sports has released its entire announcing lineup for the NFL on CBS in 2014.

After the lead team, there are promotions and new teams to tell you about.

Jim Nantz, Phil Simms and Tracy Wolfson will be the “A” team and call all Thursday Night Football games. They’ll be off on certain Sundays which means that Eagle and Fouts, “the Bird and the Beard,” will get more primo assignments.

Greg Gumbel will have a new partner this season following the departure of Dan Dierdorf. He’ll be on the “C” team with former St. Louis Rams and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Trent Green.

With Marv Albert leaving the NFL on CBS this season, Kevin Harlan and Rich Gannon form the “D” team while Spero Dedes and Solomon Wilcots become the “E” team. Then Andrew Catalon gets a fast track promotion to the “F” team working with Steve Beuerlein and Steve Tasker.

Turner’s Brian Anderson and CBS Sports Network’s Tom McCarthy get fill-in work with analysts Adam Archuleta and Phil’s son Chris Simms.

CBS goes back to the sideline reporters with a vengeance this season as Jenny Dell, formerly of NESN, will be a reporter on some games as will CBS Sports Network’s Evan Washburn.

Here’s the official announcement.
