As we get ready for another year of fantastic college basketball during the NCAA Tournament, the CBS/Turner consortium of CBS/TBS/TNT/truTV will once again combine to show every game from the “First Four™” all the way to the Final Four®.
There are a couple of changes in this year’s tournament as compared to the last three seasons of the CBS/Turner collaboration.
TBS would air the two regional finals on Saturday, March 29 at night in the Eastern time zone starting at 6 p.m. while CBS will take the regional final games on Sunday, March 30 beginning at 2 p.m.
TBS will air the Final Four® on Saturday, April 4 marking the first time the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament National Semifinals will be aired on cable. CBS had aired the Final Four® consecutively from 1982 through 2013.
In addition, Turner will produce home-centric feeds for the four schools involved in the Final Four® utilizing TNT and truTV as well as the national broadcast on TBS.
CBS will carry the National Championship Game and for the first time, will add a 30-minute pregame show at 8:30 p.m. ET. Tip-off would be scheduled for 9:10 p.m. ET. Previously, CBS had the tip at 9:28 p.m.
Overall, CBS will air 22 of the 67 NCAA Tournament games. Of the Turner Trio, TBS will carry 20, truTV airs 14 games including the First Four™ on March 18 and 19 while TNT will show 13 NCAA Tournament contests.
