NBCUniversal’s Programming for Day 16 of the XXII Olympic Games

So we’ve finally reached the end of the 2014 Winter Olympics. The last medals to be handed out will be the four-man bobsled which will be aired live on NBCSN at 4 a.m. ET, the men’s hockey gold medal to either Canada or Sweden and that game will be seen live on NBC starting with a 30-minute pregame show at 6:30 a.m. ET and the 50 km freestyle cross country skiing race for the men which will be shown during NBC’s afternoon coverage on Sunday.

Summing up, the four-man bobsled will be shown live on NBCSN at 4 a.m. and then again during NBC’s afternoon coverage. The men’s hockey gold medal game will be aired live across the country on NBC. And the 50 km cross country skiing race will be on tape delay.

In the Mountain and Pacific time zones only, NBC will air a repeat the men’s gold medal game at starting at 9 a.m. MT and 10 a.m. PT.

The Closing Ceremony then airs in primetime at 8:30 p.m. following NBC’s documentary “Nancy & Tonya” at 7 p.m.

Stamford, Conn, February 22, 2014 – NBC’s primetime coverage of the XXII Olympic Winter Games tomorrow, Sunday, February 23 at 7/6c is highlighted by the special documentary Nancy & Tonya, in which Mary Carillo looks back at the events surrounding the ladies’ figure skating competition at the 1994 Olympic Winter Games, one of the most dramatic events in Winter Olympics history. Immediately following Nancy & Tonya, NBC presents coverage of the Closing Ceremony of the 2014 Olympic Winter Games beginning at 8:30/7:30c. The Closing Ceremony will include the parade of flags and athletes from countries participating in the Sochi Games. The Olympic flag will be turned over to Pyeongchang, South Korea, host of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games, and the Closing Ceremony culminates with the extinguishment of the Olympic flame. Growing Up Fisher, a comedy from creator DJ Nash starring J.K. Simmons and Jenna Elfman, will debut at 10:30/9:30c following coverage of the Closing Ceremony.

NBC’s daytime coverage on Sunday is highlighted by the men’s hockey gold medal final, the last of the 98 gold medals to be determined during the Sochi Games, featuring Canada vs. Sweden, live in all time zones with coverage beginning at 6:30 a.m. ET/3:30 a.m. PT. In a battle between the past two Olympic champions, Canada and star Sidney Crosby look to defend their 2010 gold medal against Sweden, the 2006 Olympic champion, with New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist. An encore presentation of the game will be available for MT/PT time zones at 9:30 a.m. MT/10:30 a.m. PT. Please see the below listings for more information.

NBC’s daytime coverage, 2 p.m. ET & PT/1 p.m. CT & MT, also features the four-man bobsled, where Steven Holcomb, who led Team USA to gold in the four-man bobsled in 2010, takes his final runs the event. Holcomb and his team currently sit in fourth entering the final day of competition. The 50km freestyle gold medal final in men’s cross-country will round out NBC’s daytime coverage.

NBCSN’s live coverage on Sunday includes the four-man gold medal final in men’s bobsled at 10 a.m. ET. On Monday, Feb. 24, the day after the Winter Games conclude, NBCSN premieres NASCAR AMERICA, a new 30-minute daily show dedicated to the nation’s longstanding fascination with speed and stock car racing at 5 p.m. ET. Four-Man Bobsled – Gold Medal Final Runs: LIVE coverage as reigning Olympic champion Steven Holcomb takes the track with two new crew members and the latest iteration of the Night Train sled he piloted to victory in Vancouver. The Park City pilot will have to overcome the host nation’s sentimental favorite, 39-year-old Russian Aleksandr Zubkov, whose Olympic career began as a luger in Nagano and includes three bobsled medals, including gold from Sochi’s two-man event. Holcomb and his team currently sit in fourth entering the final day of competition.
