NBCUniversal’s Programming for Day 4 of the XXII Olympic Winter Games

Medals will be handed out in cross country skiing, women’s ski jumping, women’s luge, plus curling and women’s hockey continues.

And let us not forget that the halfpipe will be taking place on Tuesday and that means that American Shaun White will go for an unprecedented third gold medal in that sport.

Also the pairs short program in figure skating gets underway marking the return of the great law firm of Weir and Lipinski on NBCSN in the midday.

NBCSN begins its coverage at 3 a.m. ET with 12 hours of mostly live coverage. MSNBC hits the air at 10 a.m. with Russia vs. Japan in women’s hockey. CNBC has its daily curling program at 5 p.m. ET. USA Network has USA vs. Communist China in men’s curling at 5 a.m. ET.

NBC begins its daily delayed coverage at 3 p.m. ET followed by primetime at 8 p.m. and late night at 12:05 a.m..

Stamford, Conn, – February 10, 2014 – NBC’s primetime coverage of the XXII Olympic Winter Games continues tomorrow, Tuesday, February 11 at 8 p.m. ET, with men’s snowboard halfpipe — one of the most highly anticipated events of the Games — as action sports icon Shaun White attempts to become the first American man to win the same individual event at three Olympic Winter Games.. Primetime figure skating on NBC continues Tuesday with the pairs’ short program as reigning world champions Tatyana Volosozhar and Maksim Trankov look to reinstate Russia’s Olympic dominance in the event following the 2010 Olympics, where Russia’s streak of 12 straight pairs gold medals (dating back to the Soviet era) was broken. Also in primetime are two events making their Olympic debut: women’s ski jumping, which features 2013 world champion Sarah Hendrickson; and women’s ski slopestyle.

NBCSN’s programming on Tuesday begins at 3 a.m. ET and is highlighted by live coverage of men’s and women’s cross-country individual sprint gold medal finals, where Alaska’s Kikkan Randall, the 2009 world silver medalist, is a strong medal contender in the women’s event. NBCSN will also feature women’s curling with Team USA vs. Russia; live coverage of figure skating pairs’ short program; and live coverage of the gold medal final in women’s ski jumping. Live on USA Network at 5 a.m. ET on Tuesday, Team USA takes on China in men’s curling. CNBC’s coverage of women’s curling begins at 5 p.m. ET Tuesday with Team USA vs. Great Britain.

Men’s Snowboarding – Halfpipe Gold Medal Final: In one of the most highly anticipated events of the Games, action sports icon Shaun White will attempt to become the first American man to win the same individual event at three Olympic Winter Games. Standing in his way will be 15-year-old Japanese phenom Ayumu Hirano and a de facto home favorite, Russian-born Swiss rider Iouri Podladtchikov. Known as “I-Pod,” Podladtchikov dubs his signature move the “YOLO flip,” which stands for “You Only Live Once.”

Figure Skating – Pairs’ Short Program: Reigning world champions Tatyana Volosozhar and Maksim Trankov look to reinstate Russia’s Olympic dominance in pairs figure skating following the 2010 Olympics, where Russia’s streak of 12 straight pairs gold medals (dating back to the Soviet era) was broken. The duo will begin their run at the top of the podium with the pairs’ short program, but may be challenged in front of a home crowd by four-time world champions and 2010 Olympic bronze medalists Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy of Germany.

Women’s Freestyle Skiing – Slopestyle Gold Medal Final: Keri Herman, a 31-year-old who took up competitive skiing after growing up as a hockey player, and Devin Logan, this winter’s Dew Tour champion, are among the Americans who should compete for medals.

Women’s Ski Jumping – Individual K-95 Gold Medal Final: Women’s ski jumping makes its long-awaited Olympic debut. After tearing her ACL in August, 19-year-old Park City native Sarah Hendrickson, the reigning world champion, is attempting to return to full strength in time to become the event’s first gold medalist. The other top teen in the event is 17-year-old Japanese phenom Sara Takanashi, who placed second behind Hendrickson at the 2013 World Championships.

NBC HIGHLIGHTS (Daytime):

Women’s Cross-Country – Individual Sprint Gold Medal Final: This event represents the best chance for what would be only the second Olympic medal in U.S. cross-country history. It will be contested in the freestyle technique, which is the stronger technique of Alaska’s Kikkan Randall, the 2009 world silver medalist.

Men’s Cross-Country – Individual Sprint Gold Medal Final: Two-time Olympian Andy Newell has been the top U.S. sprinter in recent years, but he will be racing against some of the top international skiers, including Norwegian star Petter Northug.

Women’s Luge – Gold Medal Final Runs: Germany is hoping to slide to its fifth straight gold in this event, as competitors from several other nations try to crash the podium in Sochi. The veteran leader of the U.S. squad is 2009 world champion Erin Hamlin, a 27-year-old from the small town of Remsen, New York, who makes her third Olympic appearance in Sochi.

NBC HIGHLIGHTS (Late Night):

Women’s Speed Skating – 500m Gold Medal Final: Former inline skater Heather Richardson has the potential to win several medals in Sochi, and this event could mark her first. The North Carolina native will be chasing after reigning Olympic gold medalist, Lee Sang-Hwa of South Korea.

Women’s Biathlon – 10km Pursuit Gold Medal Final: There will be high hopes for the host nation, as Russian Biathlon Union president Mikhail Prokhorov, the billionaire tycoon who also owns the Brooklyn Nets, set a goal of two or three gold medals for his athletes at the Games.

Women’s Curling – USA vs. Russia: Sixteen years after her Olympic debut in Nagano, Erika Brown returns to the Games as the skip of the U.S. women’s curling team. The U.S. women will be seeking their first Olympic curling medal after finishing fourth at the 2013 World Championships. Sweden, Great Britain and Canada are among the top international teams.

Men’s Curling – USA vs. China (LIVE): Two-time Olympian John Shuster has the Olympic experience required to guide the U.S. team through a deep men’s field that includes favorites Canada, Sweden and Great Britain. The 31-year-old Minnesota native was part of the 2006 Olympic team that collected the first U.S. Olympic curling medal and then led the Americans in Vancouver.
