DAN MARINO: Talking about Peyton and the year he’s having, and the reason I think it’s one of the best years ever for a quarterback is, when I did it, I was 24-years-old. He’s doing it now at 37. He’s had four neck surgeries… As you get older, there are things that happen to your body. To be able to do it right now is incredible.

BART SCOTT: The last two games the Dallas Cowboys have played have been the worst defense I have ever seen in my life. I don’t know if they could beat Towson right now. Monte Kiffin is supposed to be this great guru – I’m watching some of the worst fundamentals and technique that I’ve ever seen on film in my life. I’m talking about high school, college and pros. I’ve never seen poor execution, a lack of passion and technique at the same time.

AMY TRASK: Jon Gruden is beloved by Raiders fans. Looking at this from a business standpoint, what a bonanza for the club if Gruden were to come back. The season ticket base would grow, the fan affinity would grow. From a business standpoint, without even regard to the X’s and O’s – he is simply beloved. The love the fans have for Jon can move the needle in all of those business areas. Unless and until he steps out of that broadcast booth and takes a job, there is always going to be a rumor and the question, will he go back to Oakland? That is out there now. It is going to continue to be there unless and until he ultimately says, ‘I’m going and here’s where I’m going.’

(ON NEW JERSEY STATE CLIMATOLOGIST DR. DAVID ROBINSON ON WEATHER FOR SUPER BOWL XLVIII):
DR. ROBINSON: It’s not likely that it will snow. There’s only about a 10% chance of seeing some snow falling during the game… We’ve never had a big snowstorm on February 2, looking back at 80 years of records, over in Newark. But just two days after that, back in 1961, there was 15 inches of snow on the Fourth of February. So you can have a big storm at that time of year, but it’s not that common.
