CBS will air the SEC Championship Game as usual today. But in a first, it will air the Mountain West Championship and not immediately following the SEC. You’ll get a rest in between the SEC Championship and Mountain West games. The SEC Championship will air live from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta at 4 p.m. ET. And the Mountain West Championship will be on at 10 p.m.
Auburn takes on Missouri at 4 p.m. ET. Uncle Verne Lundquist, Gary Danielson and Tracy Wolfson will be on hand for the game on CBS. The College Football Today crew of Tim Brando, Spencer Tillman and Brian Jones will also at the Georgia Dome for pregame show coverage.
Then tonight, the inaugural Mountain West Championship will take place live from Fresno, CA as the Fresno State Bulldogs host the Utah State Aggies. CBS Sports Network’s Mountain West tandem of Andrew Catalon and Aaron Taylor will call the game. They’ll be joined by Lead Off’s Allie LaForce who will roam the sidelines.
CBS Sports Network will have postgame coverage of both games with studio shows.

Following the SEC Championship, CBS Sports Network airs SEC TONIGHT, providing immediate highlights and analysis of Auburn-Missouri, as well as post-game interviews and coverage from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Brent Stover hosts along with analysts Houston Nutt, Randy Cross and Adam Archuleta. Upon conclusion of the Mountain West Championship, the MOUNTAIN WEST CHAMPIONSHIP POST-GAME SHOW airs with host Adam Zucker, who is joined by Nutt, Cross and Archuleta.

(Gary Danielson On James Franklin):
James Franklin probably is the key to the football game. In modern day football, whether it’s the NFL or college, your quarterback has to come through. He is going to have to be multi-dimensional to make an impact on the game. Even Johnny Manziel couldn’t do it just throwing the ball.
(Danielson on How Mid-Season Injury to Franklin was Handled):
I’ve been part of these quarterback controversies as a player so I’m familiar with it and how it can handle or change a locker room… The way Gary Pinkel handled it in the end was a brilliant move…It was a great strategy by Pinkel and it sold the team to everybody that there’s competition for every position but I’m loyal to a guy who’s done a good job for me.
(Danielson on Auburn’s Mindset Coming off Two Legendary Games):
The fact is neither of these teams is ranked number one or number two and they’re not defending their position in the BCS Championship. I think they’re going to come out loose and play a great football game. I don’t think it’s going to be a big factor (for Auburn). The style of play they run, downhill, the triple option, happens almost by instinct. There is not a lot of thinking. It’s more reacting. Their defense hasn’t stopped anybody anyway so how bad could they play? They’re already used to having people throw the ball on them. It’s not like they’re going to melt when Missouri completes a couple passes. Everybody else has too.

I think Gary Pinkel has changed his philosophy a little bit. I think they run less finesse and bubble screens and more rough and tough zone read plays…Gary has had a long experienced coaching tenure. He has done a great job with the team, but I think this was a hungry team that wanted to prove that they belonged playing “big boy” football. Missouri is a much stronger mental team than they were a year ago.
