Glazer Reports Latest News on Broncos Head Coach John Fox’s Heart Condition
Johnson: Pressure on Pro Coaches Makes Priorities Out of Whack
Long: Tight End Position Has Revolutionized Football Over Last Ten Years

FOX NFL insider Jay Glazer updated football fans on the condition of Denver Broncos head coach John Fox, who will have heart surgery either Monday or Tuesday of this week:
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nu44dN4ONAg&rel=0&w560&h=315]Three-time Super Bowl Champion head coach Jimmy Johnson followed up Glazer’s report on John Fox: “When you ask a pro coach about his priorities, you get the standard, ‘well it’s faith and family, etc.’ but the reality is it’s about winning. There is so much pressure on these pro coaches to win that they try to outwork their opponents so their priorities are completely out of whack. The way they work, they sacrifice their families, their health, and maybe you might say that this is a wakeup call for coaches but really it’s not going to change.”

Johnson congratulates Kansas City head coach Andy Reid on an undefeated start to this season: “A great guy, a great coach, Andy Reid. I am happy for him. You look at what he went through in Philadelphia the last couple years, not only with football but losing his son. I am happy for you Andy, keep it rolling you’re 8-0 and doing a great job.”

Strahan discusses the most disappointing division in football, the NFC East: “A record of 7-9 or 9-7 can win this division and unfortunately some team in another division with a better record will be at home.”
—————————————————————————
Johnson on the current state of the Dallas Cowboys: “Nothing has changed with this team. It makes you scratch your head. How can they have that much talent and be able to beat the best teams in the league and yet in the clutch, they don’t come through. It’s so frustrating. They don’t have the swagger or confidence to win the clutch games.”
NFL on FOX game analyst Troy Aikman joined FOX NFL SUNDAY via satellite to talk about Cowboys WR Dez Bryant’s passion on the sidelines last week: “He does feel unfairly criticized. With visiting him on Friday, he’s never been regarded as a selfish football player and that’s the thing that hurts him the most. We’ve seen these types of things on the sidelines in the past and the organization and the players have always come to his defense. This is a non-issue within this organization and Bryant’s just hoping to put it behind him.”

Glazer reports on Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Jonathan Martin leaving the team last week for reasons unrelated to football, bullying: “Jonathan Martin texted and was in contact with some of his teammates last week saying, ‘I’m not going to be back for a few weeks.’ It sounds like you said, a very bizarre situation. The Dolphins are going to end up this week putting him on the non-football injury list. They actually don’t know when he’s going to come back. They’re dealing with the situation today. When it initially happened in the cafeteria and he left the team some of his teammates including Richie Incognito and Danny Watkins went to his house to try and bring him back in. The only thing I can tell you is there’s a lot more to this story with Jonathan Martin personally than meets the eye.”

Co-host Terry Bradshaw comments on the Minnesota Vikings naming Christian Ponder the starter this week after having newly acquired quarterback Josh Freeman as their starter last week: “The impact of Josh Freeman being brought into the Vikings organization will not be felt until training camp next year when Freeman knows this offense inside and out.”
—————————————————————————
Analyst Howie Long believes the tight end position in football has revolutionized the game: “The single position that has had the biggest impact on changing our game over the last ten years is the tight end position. The influx of power forwards playing tight end. Jimmy Graham of the Saints is at the top of that list.”
—————————————————————————
Analyst Long on Raiders quarterback Terrell Pryor: “He’s dynamic. He can create offense on his own. They’ve tailored the offense to fit him and a lot of the throws come outside the pocket. Defensively to me that’s where the unwritten story is for the Raiders.”
Here’s a bonus video. This is the uncut interview between Fox Sports’ Laura Okmin and Carolina quarterback Cam Newton.
