The National Football League is crowing about its TV ratings. The two marquee games for Week 6 drew big numbers. New Orleans at New England on Fox and Washington at Dallas on NBC in primetime drew the two biggest television audiences for the week ending Sunday.
Overall, Saints-Pats on Fox garnered an average of 26.7 million viewers. NBC’s Washington-Dallas game had an audience of 22.1 million.
New Orleans topped all local markets with an amazing 52.8/73 for Saints-Patriots. Kansas City was second for the Oakland-KC game with an astonishing 42.1/72 number.
In Boston which had an amazing Sunday with the last-second Pats win and then the Red Sox’s stunning American League Championship Series Game 2 come-from-behind victory over Detroit, both on Fox, drew a huge 35.1/62 for the NFL game. And then in primetime for the ALCS, garnered a 20.6/36. So while people note that Boston is a baseball town, the Patriots have virtually taken over.
Here’s the NFL press release.
