This is the week where CBS sends three of its NFL Today analysts out on the road to join existing announcing teams for three games. The analysts will do games involving their former teams. Bill Cowher steps from behind the desk to unite with Jim Nantz and Phil Simms for the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets. Boomer Esiason joins his Monday Night Football radio partner Kevin Harlan and Solomon Wilcots for the Cincinnati Bengals at Buffalo Bills game. And Shannon Sharpe draws the assignment for the Jacksonville Jaguars at Denver Broncos where he’ll link with Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts.
We have what each man has to say about his respective game assignment in the following CBS press release.

SHANNON SHARPE
I will talk about what I see. I am not trying to be Phil Simms, Dan Dierdorf or Dan Fouts. That is not what I am. That is not who I am. I am going to talk about what I see. And hopefully I’m able to provide a little insight. It is always nice to work with people that do this for a living. That’s what Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts do. So I can always lean on them. I am hoping we have a very good game the first half and I can ride their coattails. And in the second half the Broncos can open it up and I can have some fun. ‘Turn out the lights. The party’s over.’ Hopefully the game is competitive and it will call itself. I should be an after-thought. I’m excited.
BOOMER ESIASON
I have a tough week ahead because I have three games that I’m calling. I called the Atlanta-Jets game on Monday night. I called the Chicago-Giants game on Thursday night, and then Cincinnati-Buffalo on Sunday afternoon. This is a football fan’s dream to be able to do all three of these games. Every time I go back to Buffalo I think about the Bruce Smith hit I took in 1995, so it’s not always the greatest of memories in that building. Buffalo has a great passionate fan base and Doug Marrone’s starting to turn the franchise around. Cincinnati is going to be a legitimate playoff contender and I get a chance to see Andy Dalton up close and personal. So for me, it’s a football fan’s dream and certainly for anyone who works in the business.
BILL COWHER
I will be doing more in-depth studying of each team than I have before. I will be watching tape and getting a feel for their personnel. I have never worked in the booth before so this will be my first experience. I have no idea what it will be like but I am really looking forward to it.
And now let’s take a look at what you’ll see on The NFL Today as it brings That Other Pregame Show analysts Bart Scott and Amy Trask from CBS Sports Network into the CBS Mothership.
