After weeks of eliminations and various challenges, we are down to the Final Two of Big Break Mexico. One of Golf Channel’s most popular series, Big Break, will crown a winner tomorrow, either Taylor Collins who will get a sponsor’s exemption to the LPGA Tour’s Lorena Ochoa Invitational or Matthew Galloway who will receive an exemption to the PGA Tour’s OHL Classic at Mayakoba.
The winner also receives $50,000 in cash, several prizes and also $30,000 for his or her winning team.

ORLANDO, Fla. (July 24, 2013) – In a season that started with 12 competitors, Golf Channel’s BIG BREAK MEXICO reality competition series has narrowed the field to the final two –Taylor Collins (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) and Matthew Galloway (Tampa, Fla.)– who will meet for an intense 18-hole singles match on the season finale, Monday at 9 p.m. ET.
Galloway and Collins will compete for the opportunity to make their lifelong dreams of playing alongside the world’s top golfers a reality. The winner of BIG BREAK MEXICO on Monday will earn a sponsor exemption to either the PGA TOUR’s OHL Classic at Mayakoba or the LPGA Tour’s Lorena Ochoa Invitational (both Nov. 14-17) and more than $100,000 in cash and prizes, the largest grand prize in series history.
In addition to the tournament exemption, the ultimate winner also will receive $50,000 in cash; an endorsement contract, which includes an additional $10,000 in cash; $5,000 in cash from a sporting goods company; $10,000 in car rental credit, $15,000 in travel credit; and an all-expense paid return trip for two to an all-inclusive, adults-only resort in Mexico. The winning team on BIG BREAK MEXICO also will receive $30,000 in cash.
The finalists are:
Taylor Collins (23, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) – One of the younger competitors on Big Break Mexico, Collins is currently in her sophomore season on the Symetra Tour, following an up-and-down rookie season that was highlighted by a fourth place finish in her third event. Collins is a long-time student under Hall-of-Fame instructor Bob Toski, who first met Collins when she was in elementary school and gave Collins her first set of lessons.
Matthew Galloway (27, Tampa, Fla.) – Former caddie for two-time U.S. Open Champion Lee Janzen, Galloway has competed on various mini tours all over the country during the past five years. A three-time Division II All American from the University of West Florida, Galloway is competing on the mini-tour circuit full time in 2013 with the experience, insight and guidance from walking the fairways on the PGA TOUR with Janzen and the game’s best players.
BIG BREAK MEXICO unfolds on the resort’s P.B. Dye-designed, 18-hole championship course – IBEROSTAR Playa Paraiso Golf Club – a par-72 layout featuring breathtaking signature holes and distinctive rock work that are signatures of a typical P.B Dye design.
The BIG BREAK show concept pits highly skilled golfers against each other in a variety of challenges that test their physical skills and mental toughness. Past BIG BREAK champions have won tournament exemptions to compete on some of the world’s top professional circuits, including the PGA TOUR, Champions Tour, European Tour, LPGA Tour, Web.com Tour and Canadian Tour.
Tommy “Two Gloves” Gainey, BIG BREAK VII: REUNION champion and PGA TOUR professional, captured his first PGA TOUR victory in 2012 at The McGladrey Classic and is playing full-time on the PGA TOUR. 2011 Solheim Cup team member Ryann O’Toole (BIG BREAK SANDALS RESORTS competitor) and 2009 U.S. Solheim Cup Team member Kristy McPherson (BIG BREAK VI: TRUMP NATIONAL competitor) are currently playing full-time on the LPGA Tour. Several other past BIG BREAK competitors are currently competing on the world’s top tours, including Matt Every (PGA TOUR), James Nitties and Mark Silvers (Web.com Tour) and Kim Welch, Nicole Smith, Gerina Piller and Kelly Jacques (LPGA Tour).
