Thanks to the fine people at NBC Sports public relations, I have the announcing assignments for the NHL Stanley Cup Conference Quarterfinals through Sunday. Mike Emrick and Pierre McGuire work in Chicago and Washington on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively. Then they’ll be joined in DC by Eddie Olcyzk on Saturday. The trio will travel to St. Paul, MN on Sunday.
The “B” team for the NHL on NBC of Dave Strader and Brian Engblom will be in St. Louis on Tuesday and Thursday.
Kenny Albert will be joined by Pierre McGuire in Pittsburgh on Wednesday and Friday. That’s going to be an insane schedule for McGuire, but he did something similar last year in the first round as well.
Other teams include Rick Peckham and Joe Micheletti in addition to John Forslund and Daryl Reaugh.
NBC will depend on Comcast SportsNet California’s Randy Hahn and Drew Remenda for simulcasts of the San Jose-Vancouver series on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
NBC will utilize CBC for the Montreal-Ottawa series which will be called by Bob Cole, Garry Galley and Cassie Campbell-Pascall.
