Two Great Or Not-So-Great Thanksgiving Day NFL Moments

After seeing a post by Newsday’s Neil Best on Clint Longley’s miracle winning touchdown for the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day 1974, I thought I would try to find some more Thanksgiving Day moments.

The one Neil found dealt with the Cowboys coming back to beat the Washington Redskins and it was Longley’s one and only shining moment with the Cowboys in his career.

However, this next one was one in a series of blunders by Leon Lett of the Cowboys some 19 years later. This one was on Thanksgiving Day 1993 during a rare snowstorm in Dallas. NFL Films’ series America’s Game
on that Super Bowl-winning team goes into what happened with Emmit Smith, Bill Bates and former coach Jimmy Johnson.

You can watch and remember or just watch. Happy Thanksgiving.
