Analyst Jimmy Johnson doesn’t think the Dallas Cowboys can be trusted to win: “Dallas has star players, they make a lot of big plays, are ranked in the top ten on offense and top five on defense but does anybody trust them to win a game? No. And it’s for the simple reason that they make so many mistakes.”

Analyst Michael Strahan talks about whether the Steelers or the Giants were faced with more distractions due to Hurricane Sandy. The Steelers had to fly to New York this morning due to a shortage of hotel rooms with power in the tri-state area; the Giants routine this week was interrupted by Hurricane Sandy. “For players, it’s a rhythm and it throws players off their rhythm to have to fly the morning of a game. What could be a bigger distraction than the Steelers flying today are the New York Giants players who are out of their homes, don’t have any power and had to worry about getting their families to safety. That could be more of a distraction for the Giants than the Steelers.”

Co-host Terry Bradshaw on whether the Atlanta Falcons are a better team than the New York Giants: “The Giants are a football team that is better than Atlanta. They’re better offensively and defensively and I would go so far as to say that the 49ers are too. Atlanta just hasn’t done anything other than go 7-0. They haven’t won a playoff game under Matt Ryan. Right now when you throw rings on the table, it’s the New York Giants and Eli Manning. They are mentally tough, and they know how to win.”

Analyst Howie Long on the Atlanta Falcons and quarterback Matt Ryan’s success: “Since Matt Ryan has got there, they’ve won a lot of football games. Two years ago they were 13-3 and got swept in the opening round of the playoffs. They’ve done some tinkering and opened up the offense. Offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter has said its Julio Jones, Roddy White, and a rejuvenated Tony Gonzalez. They brought in Mike Nolan on defense. This is a totally different team than that team that was dominant two years ago. They’re hoping that they can get that playoff monkey off their back this year with a re-tinkered Atlanta Falcons football team.”

Analyst Jimmy Johnson believes RG3 is one of the league’s top quarterbacks: “Robert Griffin III has already established himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the league. I didn’t say ‘running quarterback.’ I said one of the top quarterbacks. Leadership, accuracy, he’s got it all and he’s one of the best.”

Co-host Terry Bradshaw had some advice for Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton: “He’s a great talent and had an incredible rookie year but finally he’s had negative press and I think it’s affected him. My advice to Cam is: young man you can learn from it and you’ll be better for it. You’re an incredible player and you’ll have 12-14 great years.”
