FOX NFL SUNDAY NOTES – 10/7/12
Bradshaw to Cutler: “Grow up young man”
Johnson & Strahan Debate Which Team is League’s BestFOX NFL SUNDAY co-host Terry Bradshaw commented on Bears quarterback Jay Cutler who was seen walking away from offensive coordinator Mike Tice as Tice was trying to talk to Cutler on the sidelines last week: “I know I would never act like that. I would show respect to the head coach and offensive coordinator. I would never do, Jay, what you did to Mike Tice. No matter if he was in your ear the whole time screaming and hollering. You know you’ve got millions of people watching. If I were you, I would learn how to be a little bit nicer. I know you don’t care and nor do I care if I ever sit down and do an interview with you – which I have yet to do – maybe there’s a reason for that. I like everybody. I’d like to like you but right now I don’t like you. Grow up young man.”

FOX NFL SUNDAY analyst Michael Strahan lists his reasons why he believes the San Francisco 49ers are the best team in the NFL: “The San Francisco 49ers are the best team in the NFL. This team has great ball control, they can run the ball, have a very efficient passing game and don’t turn the ball over. Also, Colin Kaepernick has been that extra wrinkle who has come in and made some plays for them. Most of all they have the fastest most aggressive defense in the league.”
Although the Houston Texans shouldn’t be forgotten about according to FOX NFL SUNDAY analyst Jimmy Johnson: “Not only do the Houston Texans have the second rated passer in the AFC with quarterback Matt Schaub, but they didn’t really need him because they can wear you out with the running game. Defensively, they may be the best in the league with Wade Phillips as defensive coordinator. Houston may be the best team in the league.”

FOX NFL SUNDAY insider Jay Glazer traded texts with Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano last night. It was announced earlier this week that Pagano has been diagnosed with Leukemia and will take a break from coaching to get healthy: “I was texting with him last night and he said, ‘It’s difficult for me. I’ve never been out of football on a Sunday.’ It was hard for him last night and will be harder for him today. He sent the team a motivational email. Basically the gist of the email was, ‘We will, we can, we must. We have no choice. We will overcome.’”

FOX NFL SUNDAY analyst Howie Long named his surprise team of 2012: “St. Louis is a big surprise. Rams cornerback Cortland Finnegan might be the free agent signing of the year on defense, playing opposite cornerback Janoris Jenkins. Jenkins can flat out play. Also defensive end Robert Quinn is the breakout defensive player of the year.”

According to analyst Jimmy Johnson, the New York Jets are finished if they lose their next two games: “They’ll lose to Houston this Monday night and in a couple weeks they’ve got New England. If they lose to New England, get the fork out because they’re done.”
FOX NFL SUNDAY co-host Terry Bradshaw on the New York Jets bringing in Tim Tebow: “It was a mistake to bring him in in the first place.”

Former Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl-winning head coach and FOX NFL SUNDAY analyst Jimmy Johnson thinks Dallas’ offense needs work: “There is still a lot of football to be played. They’re going to be fine on defense. The offense is a little shaky though.”
