NBC Sports Group Onto Day 27 of NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs

NBC Sports Network along with the NBC Sports Group is in Day 27 of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. It has a doubleheader tonight with Game 5 of the Washington Capitals-New York Rangers series. Tonight at Madison Square Garden, Doc Emrick, Eddie Olcyzk and Pierre “Minus” McGuire will have the call at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT.

Then at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT, it will be a potential elimination game as the Phoenix Coyotes can close out their Western Conference Semifinal series with the Nashville Predators live from Glendale, AZ. John Forslund and Joe Micheletti will be on-hand for the call of that contest.

NHL Live starts it all off at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT.

Tonight’s coverage of the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs starts in the Eastern Conference with #1 New York Rangers hosting #7 Washington Capitals at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network in a crucial Game 5 at Madison Square Garden (series tied 2-2). Following at 10 p.m. ET also on NBC Sports Network, the #3 Phoenix Coyotes aim to advance to the Western Conference Final to meet the Los Angeles Kings with a home victory tonight against the #4 Nashville Predators h. Comcast SportsNet, the local home for the Capitals and Flyers, will closely follow hometown team playoff progress with pre- and post-game coverage, breaking news and analysis throughout each team’s playoff run. CSN Philadelphia will be doing live pre- and post-game programs for all Flyers games in the second round and CSN Mid-Atlantic will have one-hour Capitals Postgame Live shows for all Capitals games in the second round. Both networks will also have extensive coverage online.

GAMES TELEVISED SO FAR

For the first time in the 95-year history of the NHL, every Stanley Cup Playoff game will be televised nationally. The NBC Sports Group will provide unprecedented access to the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs in April, May and June, televising as many as 105 playoff games and possibly more than 262.5 hours of programming. Games will be presented on NBC, the NBC Sports Network, the NHL Network, and NBCUniversal’s business channel CNBC in primetime.
