Analyst Howie Long on whether or not Tim Tebow can have long term success in the NFL: “No, not unless Tebow evolves as a thrower. What scares me is that Tim Tebow today is no different as a thrower than the first day he showed up in Denver. That kind of scares me. In fairness to him, he lost an off-season of development because of the lockout but he has to evolve and expand that offense.”
Co-host Terry Bradshaw countered: “I think he can be successful long term. He threw 83 touchdown passes at Florida and only 15 interceptions. This is the spread formation. Denver is smart and is doing what they do best with the best quarterback they have. This will work. If you control the line of scrimmage, you create a dominate attitude with the offensive line. They are playing inspired defense and by the way, he’s 4-1 as a starter. The last time I looked, wasn’t this all about winning? There’s different ways to win in the NFL, there’s nothing wrong with the spread.”

Analyst Jimmy Johnson weighs in on who had the tougher week after a devastating loss – Falcons head coach Mike Smith or Eagles head coach Andy Reid: “Andy Reid because Andy Reid can’t fix his problems this year. And he might not be around to fix them next year.”
Analyst Michael Strahan disagreed: “Mike Smith because he took a step back in that division because of one call. Punt the ball, play defense, get the ball back and go for the score.”

NFL Insider Jay Glazer reports on Michael Vick’s rib injury that will keep him out of tonight’s game vs. the Giants: “He broke his ribs on the side and it prevents him from sleeping, from turning, from breathing deeply. He could be questionable for next week. He wasn’t wearing that Kevlar vest last week and if he tries to play next week, he’ll have to wear it. Michael Vick is in an awful lot of pain right now.”

Former Dolphin Larry Csonka, a member of the undefeated 1972 Dolphins, appeared on FOX NFL SUNDAY to weigh in on if he’s taking notice by the Packers perfect record so far this season: “It’s been 40 years, I’m not that worried.”
Eugene “Mercury” Morris from the ’72 Dolphins added: “Certain things are only supposed to happen one time.”

Analyst Michael Strahan on if Green Bay can run the table and win the Super Bowl, something the Patriots were unable to do in the 2007 season: “I think the Packers learned from watching the Patriots. It’s all about how the coaches handle the situation, how the star players are handling the situation. I actually think the Packers are a better team than the Patriots were on that great season. The Patriots started to fade later in the season. I don’t see that happening from the Packers. Aaron Rodgers is hot. Their defense can pick it up whenever they need to.”

Co-host Terry Bradshaw on people who want to call Aaron Rodgers ‘the best quarterback ever’: “Don’t forget when Tom Brady was trying to lead the Patriots to an undefeated season, we said he was the best ever. We said the same thing with Peyton Manning when he had 48 touchdown passes in a season. I could go on and on. We get so caught up with the ‘best ever’. He’s having the best season of all the quarterbacks this year and I love watching him play. I’m not one of those guys who get caught up in all the “best ever” talk.”

In today’s Fired Up, co-host Terry Bradshaw takes on Jets head coach Rex Ryan and his antics: “I want my coaches and players to be humble, to act with class and definitely have respect for their opponents, which brings me to my favorite blowhard; Jets head coach Rex Ryan. You can’t win Super Bowls by losing to New England twice or by letting a college offense take it 95 yards when you’re supposed to be a defensive guru. You talk incessantly about Super Bowls, you must have ring envy. To shut him up, I’ll give him one of mine. In fact, that college quarterback who whipped your butt the other night, I bet if you asked him nicely, he’d give you one of his championship rings. I’m sure you didn’t know he had two.

Co-host Terry Bradshaw on if Chicago Bears wide receiver and return specialist Devin Hester will make it to the Hall of Fame: “If [former NFL punter] Ray Guy doesn’t go into the Hall of Fame then Hester has no shot. Ray Guy needs to be in the Hall of Fame right now. This year. Both deserve it.”
Analyst Michael Strahan added: “Ray Guy was a game changer. Devin Hester is a game changer. Hester has been a big part of helping that team win because his special teams have become as much of their offense as Jay Cutler is of their offense.”

Analyst Jimmy Johnson on the 49ers improvement from last season: “Normally when a team improves this much, it’s because they got a whole bunch of new players. They’ve got basically the same team that won six games last year and struggled to do that. A year ago, Alex Smith was a beaten up, no confidence type of quarterback and everybody said unload this guy, he can’t play. Jim Harbaugh comes in and it’s positive, upbeat and enthusiastic. That one guy is leading this team.”

Analyst Michael Strahan discusses Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray’s chances of being named Rookie of the Year: “DeMarco Murray got off to a late start. He will win the Rookie of the Year for the Cowboys, but there are better candidates like Cam Newton, Andy Dalton and Von Miller who top the list league wise.”

Co-host Terry Bradshaw on if Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan is in trouble after losing five straight games: “When you’re owed $21 million over the next three years, you’re not going anywhere. Plus this guy can coach. I believe in Mike Shanahan as a head coach. He’ll straighten it out.”

Co-host Terry Bradshaw on USC quarterback Matt Barkley: “If Matt Barkley comes out, he would be the answer for the Redskins. They need a quarterback badly. I think this guy would be one heck of an NFL player.”
