NBC Tries To Hype Colts-Saints For Week 7

Before the season, any primetime game involving the Indianapolis Colts was big, but without Peyton Manning, the Colts are just a pedestrian team. And with the Colts winless, it’s hard to really hype the rematch of Super Bowl XLIV between Indy and the New Orleans Saints. This is the second time for the Colts on Sunday Night Football without Manning. The first was in Week 3 when Indianapolis took on Pittsburgh and the Colts showed some feistiness by keeping the game close. However, the Colts have not been able to get a win thus far and certainly the Saints don’t want to be the first team to give up a win to Indy.

The NBC Sunday Night Football crew will be on hand and here is what the Peacock is saying.

DREW BREES AND THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS HOST THE INDIANAPOLIS COLTS ON SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

COVERAGE BEGINS WITH FOOTBALL NIGHT IN AMERICA AT 7 PM ET

NEW YORK – October 19, 2011 – Quarterback Drew Brees, who leads the NFC in passing yardage, leads the New Orleans Saints, tied for first place in the NFL South, as they host the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football.

Calling Colts-Saints will be six-time Emmy Award-winner Al Michaels (play-by-play), in his 26th season as the voice of the NFL’s premier primetime package; 12-time Emmy Award-winner Cris Collinsworth, who won the Emmy for outstanding event analyst in both of his seasons in the Sunday Night Football booth; and sideline reporter Michele Tafoya, in her first season on SNF.

Coverage begins Sunday with Football Night in America at 7 p.m. ET with 22-time Emmy Award-winner Bob Costas hosting the program live from inside the stadium. Costas is joined on site by Michaels and Collinsworth for reaction to the afternoon games.

Dan Patrick co-hosts Football Night from Studio 8G at NBC’s 30 Rockefeller Plaza studios and is joined by Super Bowl-winning head coach Tony Dungy, two-time Super Bowl winner Rodney Harrison, Peter King of Sports Illustrated and Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk on NBCSports.com. Alex Flanagan will report from Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on the Rams-Cowboys game.

That will do it for the NFL previews.
