HBO Re-Airs Controversial Mayweather-Ortiz Fight on Saturday

Our last press release post for tonight deals with HBO’s reair of the wacky and insane ending to the Floyd Mayweather-Victor Ortiz fight. Last week, Mayweather knocked out Ortiz at the end of the 4th round. This was after the referee penalized Ortiz for a head butt and Ortiz tried to apologize and was not looking at Mayweather as the round was winding down. Then all hell broke loose. And during the postfight interview, Larry Merchant told Mayweather he would kick his ass if he was 50 years younger following Floyd’s diatribe against the much older Larry.

So overall, it was quite the night for boxing last Saturday. HBO will air everything including the postfight interview on a special edition of World Championship Boxing Saturday night at 9:45 East and West. Here’s the press release.
