Continuing on the trend of the 2011 NASCAR season, TNT is saying that through the first half of its six race NASCAR Sprint Cup season, ratings are up 7% from last year and averaging a 3.1 rating thus far. In addition, the races are averaging a viewership of just under 5.1 million people. Last Saturday’s race in Sonoma, CA received a 3.2 rating which is up 17% from 2010 and an average viewership of slightly under 5.2 million which is up 16%.

TNT’s coverage on Sunday of the Toyota/SaveMart 350 from Sonoma’s Infineon Raceway earned a 3.2 U.S. HH rating, an increase of 17% from last year’s race. In addition, the race garnered 5,188,000 total viewers (up + 16%) and averaged 3,743,000 households (up + 21%).
NASCAR.com’s RaceBuddy continues to complement TNT’s television coverage with 848,000 video streams during Sunday’s race in Sonoma. Sunday’s race eclipsed last year’s RaceBuddy video stream total from Sonoma by 211% and last week’s video stream total from Michigan by 16% and became the second-highest total in RaceBuddy history behind TNT’s first race of the 2011 Summer Series in Pocono that saw a record-breaking 1.1 million video streams.
