Waiting On The Decision For The New Olympic Network

I was at a conference at Bryant University in North Smithfield, RI this morning and at the same time, I kept track of what was going on at the US TV network presentations to the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne, Switzerland. The great Tripp Mickle of Sports Business Journal is on the ground there and has been tweeting what he’s been seeing. The Olympics blog, Around the Rings, has been doing the same as well.

Fox, ESPN and NBC all have given their presentations to the IOC. It’s now up to the Committee to decide which network will gain the rights to at least the 2014 and 2016 Olympics and possibly the ’18 and ’20 Games as well.

We’re expecting a decision hopefully around noon Eastern time which is coming up quite soon. As soon as a decision is reached, I’ll have it on my Twitter account as well as here.
