The CBS Sports Spectacular is back on Saturday with a pair of pre-taped events. First, the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships gets an airing at 3 p.m. East. This event took place back in April, but is getting its airing now. Then CBS brings back the National High School Slam Dunk and 3-Point Championships that originally aired during Final Four® Weekend. CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR VAULTS TO COVERAGE OF “2011 NCAA WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIPS”
CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR presents the 2011 NCAA WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIPS on Saturday, May 14 (3:00-5:00 PM, ET; taped 4/15-17) from the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio. No. 1-seed Alabama attempts to win its first NCAA team title since 2002, while defending champion UCLA tries to win its seventh championship in the last 15 years. Also competing are the University of Utah, women’s gymnastics’ original dynasty team; as well as Oklahoma, Nebraska and Michigan, who are all seeking their first NCAA team gymnastics championship. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championships. CBS Sports’ Tim Brando, along with 1996 Olympic gold medalist Amanda Borden call the action, while Vin DeVito produces and Suzanne Smith directs.

CBS SPORTS SPECTACULAR broadcasts an encore presentation of the inaugural NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL SLAM DUNK AND 3-POINT CHAMPIONSHIPS on Saturday, May 14 (5:00-6:00 PM, ET; re-air from 4/3/11). The championships bring high school basketball’s top three-point and slam dunk artists to Houston, the host city of the 2011 NCAA Division I Men’s Final Four. This high-profile event combines the passion of high school athletics with the excitement of the Final Four. CBS Sports’ Tim Brando, Bill Raftery and Sam Ryan call the action. CBS Sports’ Jonathan Segal serves as coordinating producer.
