Univision Deportes Covers The World Cup Final Draw Like a Blanket

We get this from Univision Deportes. The Spanish language all-sports network will have extensive coverage of the Final Draw for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The Final Draw will place the 32 qualified teams into 8 groups of four and then, the schedules and venues will be put into place before the world’s biggest sporting event begins on June 12, 2014.

Univision Deportes will air four special programs to cover the draw including a pre-draw special this Thursday, December 5 at 10 p.m. ET. That will be followed by three programs on Friday, December 6 including the Final Draw itself. “Sorteo Final de la Copa Mundial de la FIFA Brasil, 2014” will hit the air at 10:50 a.m.

The Univision network has a special “Despierta America” which will focus on the Final Draw on Friday.

“Sorteo Final de la FIFA Brasil 2014” will air LIVE from Costa do Sauipe, Brazil on Friday, December 6 at 10:50 a.m. ET/9:50 a.m. CT /7:50 a.m. PT on Univision and Univision Deportes Network, with Pre-Draw coverage on UDN throughout the week


WHAT:          The excitement of the qualifying phase is over and now it’s time to find out the groups and matchups that qualified for the biggest sporting event on the planet, which is just six months away: 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™.

A truly spectacular event featuring musical entertainment and the participation of global soccer legends such as Pelé, Cafu, Fabio Cannavaro, Mario Kempes, and Zinedine Zidane, among others, the 2014 World Cup Final Draw will determine how the teams are subdivided into eight groups and which ones will face off on the field in Brazil beginning on June 12, 014.

Univision Deportes will bring fans all the action leading up to this important event taking place in Costa do Sauipe, Brazil on December 6, as well as LIVE coverage of the entire Draw including live interviews with national team coaches, soccer legends and celebrities in attendance to get their predictions on the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ prior to the event. “Sorteo Final de la FIFA Brasil 2014” (Final Draw FIFA Brazil 2014) will include special reports throughout the week on all Univision Deportes Network (UDN) studio shows, and a special two hour Draw Preview in primetime the night before, Thursday, December 5. Then, on Friday, December 6, UDN will have an “all access” presence with a dedicated studio set within the draw hall itself, being one of only six broadcasters in the world to have a set inside the event venue, as well as a secondary set overlooking the beach at Costa do Sauipe to provide local color and give viewers an inside look at all the excitement. A UDN reporter will be on the red carpet for live interviews and coverage, and in the draw area for immediate reactions and interviews. Following the Draw, a special 90 minute UDN show, “Sorteo Final de la Copa Mundial de la FIFA Brasil 2014 – Post Show”, will provide analysis of the results, plus live reactions from players, coaches and federation representatives in attendance.

In addition, the Univision Network will air a special edition of its hit morning show, “Despierta América” (Wake Up America), in which co-host Alan Tacher will be accompanied by renowned Univision News co-anchor, María Elena Salinas, in a LIVE broadcast from the UDN set in Costa do Sauipe. Also joining Tacher and Salinas on location will be Univision Deportes’ Luis Omar Tapia, Edgar Martinez and Ivan Kasanzew to provide complete coverage of the Draw, including live segments on Univision’s newsmagazine “Primer Impacto” (First Impact) and its network newscast, “Noticiero Univision.”
