Thursday Night Football Local TV Stations for the 2013 Season

Just as I did last year, I will post the over the air TV stations that have agreed to air NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football when is played in the local market. For instance in Week 2 for the New York Jets-New England Patriots game, WCBS and WCVB won the right to air it in New York and Boston, respectively.

The NFL mandates when a game on cable is played, one local over the air TV station will be allowed to pick up the contest in case people in that market do not have access to pay television. So for ESPN’s Monday Night Football and NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football, their games are put to bid in the local markets before each season. In the case of ESPN, ABC-affiliated stations are given the first option, but if they pass, other stations can bid for the game. For NFL Network, all stations in the local market are eligible as long as they pay the price.

All games are subject to the blackout rule, if they’re sold out 72 hours in advance of kickoff, the contest will be aired live in the local market.

So we have the local stations that will air Thursday Night Football starting with Week 3. NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football runs from Week 2 through Week 12 and then Weeks 14 and 15 with Thanksgiving Night airing on NBC.

Here’s the list.
