Pray For Grace

Normally, I don’t do these type of posts, but Christopher Byrne of Eye on Sports Media has been a friend to me since I began this site back in 2007 and in the early days, I linked to his site quite often when I was doing linkage regularly.

Christopher has a beautiful daughter Grace who is an athlete at her high school while being dual enrolled at the University of Georgia. She’s a star athlete in two sports, Cross Country and Tennis. She’s won multiple varsity letters and has competed in half-marathons. To say that she’s a very good athlete is an understatement.

Earlier this month as she was crossing the street, Grace was struck by an SUV. Since then, she’s been in the hospital at the Intensive Care Unit suffering from Severe Brain Trauma. Over the last ten days, Chris, his family and Grace’s friends have been praying for her recovery. In his last update on his Facebook page, Chris notes that there have been small steps in Grace’s recovery, but things do appear to be going in a positive direction.

In addition, a Facebook page, Walnuts for Grace, has been set up to keep people updated on Grace’s recovery. The walnut is to represent Grace’s head and Chris asks that you carry a walnut and as you see or touch it, say a prayer for her. Chris’ family believes in the power of prayer and asks that you continually keep Grace in your thoughts tonight and for the next few nights.

I do this not only as a favor to my friend, Chris, but also to ask you to light a candle or to say a prayer for Grace in hopes that we can bring her to a full recovery.
