The Amazing Race Asia 2 – Ep. 2 Recap

Last week’s episode was a non-elimination leg with Edwin & Monica finishing last, but Marked for Elimination with a 30 minute penalty staring them in the face if they didn’t finish in first. So they had their work cut out for them.

Ten teams remain after everyone left Singapore and went to Manila. The first place team of Vanessa & Pamela would leave the pit stop of Fort Santiago at 7:19 a.m. to head out for the second leg of the race. They were to take a taxi and go to the Green Star bus terminal and take a three hour ride to the Pila Laguna Municipal Center in Pila Laguna where teams will find their next clue. Teams received $54 for this leg of the race.

Rovilson & Marc left the pit stop just minutes behind the sisters. These jerkoffs said they would continue to rip each other (and in the process, mug for the camera). Marc said he would support Rovilson and Rovilson, in turn, said he would support Marc. Blah. Blah. Blah. Just wait until they hit a stressful situation. We’ll see how supportive they are. In the meantime, Mr. and Mr. Perfect head for the bus terminal.

As Vanessa & Pam ride to catch their bus, they said there are a lot of good teams so it makes them want to push harder. Pam says even though they left first, they cannot believe they’re on top because things can change quickly. So true and perhaps some foreshadowing on the producer’s part.

Dancing moms Ann & Diane leave next saying they don’t mind finishing in the middle of the pack, but at the same time, their goal is to win this leg.

In their cab, Rovilson slaps Marc with their money. Oh, they’re so funny. No, they’re not. This is just painful to watch them try to be cutups. Instead, they come off arrogant.

As the moms finally get a cab, dating couple Brett & Kinar leave the pit stop, money in hand. Brett says he and Kinar will be willing to do anything to win. So far, we have not seen that side of them. Perhaps if they advance and the numbers of teams get reduced, we’ll see it, but thus far, they’ve been devoid of personality.

Vanessa & Pam reach the Green Star bus terminal first, but one thing they learn is that the buses don’t leave right away. Rovilson says he will attempt to charm bus drivers in not picking up fellow teams as “every little bit counts.” I have to admit that is a good strategy as you don’t want to get bunched with other teams.

Ann & Diane notice that Marc is pictured on their map. Apparently Marc Nelson is quite the male model in the Philippines. This is another reason to hate the man. As we cut back to Rovilson & Marc, they note how much they want to finish first in their home country. They did not do this in the last leg, so we’ll see how successful they will be in this leg.

Former roommates Sophie & Aurelia leave the pit stop in 5th. Sophie says she and Aurelia have to make better decisions, but they did finish in the top half of the pack. They both want to finish higher and look for better synergy among each other. Can’t fault them at all.

Because the first Green Star bus doesn’t leave right away, this allows Rovilson & Marc to catch up and they get on much to the dismay of the sisters. But Rovilson recruits the sisters to get the driver to leave before the customary 15 minute wait. So funny. Of course, then Rovilson & Marc turn around and say “it’s amazing what pretty girls can get away with in this country.” Who’s idea was it to use sex as a weapon? Jerks.

So with the first bus gone, Brett & Kinar and Ann & Diane get on the second Green Star bus to Pila Laguna. Rovilson & Marc knowing the territory are aware that the buses leave 15 minutes apart and they note it will be difficult for the other teams to convince their drivers to depart before then. But Diane is able to get the second bus to leave early.

Sophie & Aurelia get on the third bus. And back at the pit stop, childhood friends Paula & Natasha and gym buddies Adrian & Collin depart. Over at the bus terminal, Sophie & Aurelia appeal to the driver to leave so they can get a head start on the other teams. Sophie finally convinces the third bus to leave five minutes early so Paula & Natasha and Adrian & Collin will have to catch a 4th bus. You can see Sophie’s happy.

Back on the 1st bus, Marc is flirting with the sisters. They see through this.

Daichi & Sawaka are leaving the pit stop in 8th. She says Daichi is stronger than she thought. He says everything has gone smooth and their relationship is smoother than they started which is good to see.

We then see the teams on their buses and with a three hour bus ride, some are reading, some are sleeping while others are just thinking about what could be next for them.

Paula & Natasha finally get to the bus terminal and board on the 4th bus out. But Natasha tries to pull a fast one on Adrian & Collin by telling them that the bus is full, however, Adrian sees through this and he and Collin get on board. Silly girl, but I like Paula & Natasha. Their bus pulls out and that forces Japanese siblings Daichi & Sawaka to get the fifth bus.

Terri & Henri head out for the bus terminal.

The first two teams, Vanessa & Pam and Rovilson & Marc finally reach Pila Laguna and both head to the Municipal Center to get their clue
s. They find that a Roadblock is up ahead.

Teams will have to go to a rice paddy where one team member will use a carabao or ox to plow a Figure 8 path between marked poles and back to receive their next clue. This brings back memories of TAR5 when Colin had trouble with his ox and said the famous line, “My ox is broken!” Of course, we’ve learned that oxen don’t necessarily listen to instructions. And if a team needs assistance from a farmer, the team will have to start all over again.

Marc and Pamela both choose to guide the carabao and head to the paddy. All teams had to get into these miniature tricycle sidecars and I really don’t know how Rovilson & Marc got into them. Both are big guys plus they had backpacks, but they managed to squeeze in. Plus Marc was changing his pants in there so I have to give the guys props for doing that as much as it pains me.The sisters were close behind heading to the Roadblock.

Over to Henry, he knew from living in the Philippines how long the ride would be and he was hoping to make up some time with a good driver. On the second bus, Ann & Diane were getting impatient on their way to Pila Laguna. And in their cab, Terri & Henry were coming up with nicknames for the other teams. The apt “Magnum P.I.” was given to Rovilson & Marc. Terri calls Paula & Natasha, “Japs” for Jewish American Princesses. Oy.

Speaking of Paula & Natasha, they give a show on their bus and get money leaving Adrian & Collin to shake their heads knowing they would not be able to get away with that. It was not a strip show, but I’m sure the girls would have done it, if necessary.

The first two teams get to the Roadblock and realizing how muddy it was, took off their socks and shoes. Marc and Pamela both got their instructions on how to turn and stop the carabao. Marc seemed to get the hang of it while Pamela was having all type of trouble in controlling her ox.

The last team, Edwin & Monica finally leave for the bus terminal.

At the rice paddy, Marc is traversing the course. Pamela just can’t get the feel of her animal and it runs all over the place. It finally goes off the course and she has to ask a farmer for help. Thus, she’ll have to start all over again. Pam was whining that she didn’t want to do the task, but she had to suck it up. Vanessa calmed her down. That’s what a sister can do, be supportive and also calm the other one down and that’s what helped Pamela this time around. But as we’ll see, they get into a bit of trouble after the Roadblock. In the meantime, Marc is able to direct his carabao through the paddy.

Back with Edwin, he’s instructing, no, ordering Monica to read the clue. His treatment of Monica in this episode is really bad. One can say it was editing, but to be honest, Edwin did not come off well at all. Maybe it was his attitude, maybe it was outside forces, but whatever it was, he never seemed to get into the race. More on him later.

We then get quick cuts of Terri & Henry arriving at the bus terminal, Marc having an easy time directing his carabao and Pamela getting instructions on how to get her ox to move.

Terri & Henry finally get on their bus which will be the sixth heading to Pila Laguna.

The second bus carrying Ann & Diane and Brett & Kinar is about to arrive at the Municipal Center.

At the rice paddy, Marc has finished putting the Philippine Alpha Males in front. They find out they’ll have to head back to Manila and go to the Caltex Star Mart to pick up four boxes of supplies, place them in one of ten flagged “jeepneys” and take them to an orphanage where they will pick up their next clue.

Pamela has finally gotten the hang of steering her carabao and she gets her clue.

The second bus carrying the moms and dating couple Brett & Kinar has finally arrived and they all head over to the rice paddy. Kinar will do the steering for her team while Diane has volunteered for the moms.

Over to the 4th bus, Paula & Natasha are counting the money they received for their “performance” and Adrian yells that the girls can buy the guys lunch.

In their tricycle, Kinar tells Brett she can control the carabao and he mistakenly says it’s like riding a horse. And the second group finally arrives at the rice paddy.

Rovilson & Marc get to the bus stop just as Vanessa & Pamela leave, but instead of reading the clue completely, the sisters look for a Star Mart in town rather than heading back to Manila. They arrive at the bus stop where the guys are, but the sisters wander off to look for the Star Mart. This costs them some time. They go to a local Star Mart, but finally realize it’s the wrong one, but they continue to look for one in the Pila Laguna.

Kinar goes into the rice paddy to say hello to her carabao and she attempts to mount it when the farmers luckily intervene. But she laughs about it later in her confessional. I can see why Brett likes her because her laugh is infectious. This is really the first time we’ve seen any personality from this team in the first two episodes.

Back at Manila, Edwin & Monica are in their cab heading towards the bus terminal and it’s raining. It matches the gloomy mood of Edwin who has been frowning the entire time. So much for saying that if Rob & Amber were in their version of the race, they would take them down. Since the race began, Edwin & Monica have been bringing up the rear and his attitude has been piss-poor throughout.

Diane gets into the rice paddy and she’s been having trouble getting her carabao to move. Finally, Kinar gets her animal to traverse the course. Diane’s takes off and she can’t control it no matter how loud she yells at the carabao to stop. She falls down into the mud. I feel bad for her because she’s trying so hard.

Back with the sisters, they’re asking locals for the Caltex Star Mart, but of course, they’re not familiar with the address on their clue. They continue to wander aimlessly through the streets of Pila Laguna. Rovilson & Marc get on the bus back to Manila.

On bus #6, Terri is going to
pass the time by getting the passengers to sing. She’s a very funny person. I hope she and Henry remain in the race for a while as they’re a fun team to watch.

Bus #3 carrying Sophie & Aurelia has arrived. The French expatriate Aurelia gets off the bus and immediately spots the Municipal Center and the clue box. They read the clue and Aurelia says she’ll do the roadblock.

Diane is back at the start of the course in the rice paddy and she can’t get her carabao to go.

Just as she did in the first episode, Sophie tries to explain a task to Aurelia and she doesn’t pick up the meaning. This is the “Lost in Translation” look from the first episode, but as Aurelia says in their post-leg confessional, she knows what plowing is, she doesn’t know the word in English. I can understand Aurelia’s predicament. English is not her first language.

Over to the rice paddy, Diane has finally gotten the hang of directing her carabao. And she finishes the course in 3rd place ahead of Kinar!

Back on the first bus back to Manila, the guys manipulate the driver to take off. They ask their parents for forgiveness, but they say they’re on a race and they’re not there to be nice. Again, I have to give them credit for this. While I’m not liking their personalities, they’re running a good race and strategically, it’s paid off for them in this leg.

But the sisters are still mistakenly searching for the Star Mart in Pila Laguna. They ask for directions and again, they are told to keep walking in town. Vanessa says “The people don’t know anything!” But at the same time, they’re only going on what they think is local, not Manila. They go back to the Star Mart and don’t see any Jitneys.

While this is going on, the dancing moms arrive at the bus stop. Aurelia goes into the rice paddy to start with her carabao. She’s having a bit of difficulty, but she always has a smile while doing it. I’m liking her and Sophie.

The fourth bus has arrived in Pila Laguna and Paula & Natasha and the gym buddies get out to get their clues at the Municipal Center. Collin has decided he will do the task.

Back in Manila, Edwin & Monica finally get to the bus, but they won’t be leaving for 20 to 30 minutes.

Aurelia is with her carabao and it stops to take a dump. Funny stuff. Sophie laughs as well. Once it’s done relieving itself, the carabao goes and Aurelia who is laughing through this, is able to steer her animal without too many problems.

Kinar finally finishes the course and is fourth to get the clue directing her and Brett to go back to Manila.

We’re back with the sisters and they’re getting frustrated over not being able to find the Star Mart. Finally, someone tells them that the Caltex Star Mart they’re looking for is in Manila and they realize that they didn’t look at their clue completely. Luckily, they’re able to find a tricycle to take them to the bus stop. It seems they lost a lot of time looking for the Star Mart in Pila Laguna.

Brett & Kinar take off from the rice paddy and head to the bus stop. The sisters continue to argue about who’s fault it was not reading the clue. They finally get to the bus stop and find Brett & Kinar already there. They all get on the second bus back to Manila.

Friends Paula & Natasha and gym buddies Adrian & Collin get to the rice paddy. Collin and Natasha get instructions on how to steer their carabao. While they’re beginning the course, Aurelia is just about done. One thing that amazes me is that most everyone got their shorts or pants dirty. Aurelia gets out of the mud with her white shorts completely clean! She and Sophie get their clue and they’re fifth out of the rice paddy.

Over to the bus stop, the dancing moms, Ann & Diane are alone getting onto their bus to Manila.

At the rice paddy, both Collin and Natasha are having problems with their carabao. As Collin said later, he was not given instructions on where to go. And to add salt to the wound, he lost a contact lens in the mud. Obviously, he’s not going to find it. As Collin says, he was like a half blind mouse.

Finally, Natasha is getting the hang of directing her ox. And she’s able to finish and get her clue.

On the third bus, moms Ann & Diane are rocking out to the music and are eating some energy food. They’re always taking the opportunity to dance and they’re a very likable team.

Sophie & Aurelia get on the 4th bus to Manila alone. Paula & Natasha are 6th out of the Roadblock and they squeeze into the tricycle. Collin finally finishes so he and Adrian are 7th to go to Manila.

Japanese siblings Daichi & Sawaka arrive at the Municipal Center to go to the Roadblock and he volunteers to do the carabao.

And just like they did coming to Pila Laguna, Adrian & Collin and friends Paula & Natasha are on the same bus, this time heading to Manila.

On the next to last bus to Pila Laguna, Henry says the task must not be difficult, but as Daichi walks into the mud, he says, “This one looks tough.” Husband and wife, Henry & Terri get out and he says he will do the task.

At the rice paddy, Daichi cannot steer his carabao and they just walk around in circles. He seemingly finds his way and of course, his sister has to sing. This is annoying.

Finally, Edwin & Monica arrive at the Municipal Center and he agrees to do the Roadblock.

A dirty Daichi finally finishes the Roadblock, give his sister a hug and gets the next clue. They’ll get on the sixth bus to Manila.

Back to Manila, Rovilson & Marc get out of the bus to look for a cab to take them to the Caltex Star Mart.

Terri & Henry arrive and he takes his socks and shoes off to undertake the Roadblock.

Edwin & Monica go over what he has to do and he pretty much has it down before they arrive at the rice paddy.

Henry as he said on the bus had an easy time with his carabao. He said the animal was cooperative and he had no trouble directing it where to go. And he said he was able to make up a lot of time. And they were the 9th to finish the task.

The second bus carrying sisters Vanessa & Pamela and dating couple Brett & Kinar broke down causing them to lose some time. But in a wise move, the sisters decide not to
wait and take a cab to the Star Mart. But Brett & Kinar decide to stay on the bus.

Rovilson & Marc finally find a taxi and they’re off to find the Caltex Star Mart.

In a funny scene, we see that Ann is asleep on the third bus. I hope you don’t miss your stop!

Married couple Terri & Henry get on the bus to Manila while Edwin steps into the mud in the rice paddy. As he mentioned, it was pretty nasty.

At the Caltex, Rovilson & Marc are first to arrive and they get the four boxes of supplies to load into the Jitneys and take off for the children’s shelter.

Quickly behind are the sisters and they get their supplies to head off for the shelter.

Brett & Kinar look for a taxi and soon find one to get to the Star Mart.

Rovilson & Marc get to the shelter and how can one refuse the cute faces? He opens a box and gives out candy to the kids. I hate to keep giving credit to these guys, but Marc says the highlight of the day was coming to the shelter and helping out the kids. He said he had a good feeling. How can you help it after seeing the kids’ happy faces?

Rovilson & Marc get their next clue and find that they’re heading to a Detour.

Teams will take a Jitney to Santa Cruz, a northern district of Manila where they will choose between two tasks. Heel or Wheel.

In Heel, teams will have to match 250 pairs of shoes with one another. The task is not physical, but teams that lack patience will take a long time.

In Wheel, teams must go to a bike stand and assemble a bike only using the parts and tools provided. This task could be complicated, but those teams that are mechanically inclined can finish quickly.

The guys choose Wheel and head for Santa Cruz. Rovilson & Marc says the Philippine people are incredibly resilient and are always smiling. From what I’ve seen, this is true and while I don’t like Rovilson & Marc, they were incredibly poignant in this episode.

Back at the rice paddy, Edwin is plodding through the mud with his carabao. It’s not going well.

The sisters reach the children’s shelter. We hear from Rovilson that by the time the later teams reach the shelter, the kids will be so wound up on sugar that they’ll feel attacked. A fact that Vanessa learns quickly as she tries to hand out the supplies. Pamela in her confessional says “Those are not kids, I’m telling you…. I’ll go back to the carabao now!” She’s funny.

After getting their clue, the sisters decide to do Wheel and take off for Santa Cruz in their jitney.

Finally, a dirtied Edwin finishes the Roadblock, the very last one to do so.

The Dancing Moms, Ann & Diane get out of their bus, catch a cab and head for the Star Mart. They get there ahead of Brett & Kinar who were delayed when the second bus broke down.

The fourth bus carrying friends Paula & Natasha and Adrian & Collin finally arrives in Manila and they run out looking for cabs. Both get one and head to the Star Mart.

Rovilson & Marc get out of their jitney and look for their destination on foot.

In the meantime, as Ann & Diane head for the children’s shelter, Ann comments that Manila is too chaotic for her. I can understand that. It’s a very busy city.

The guys finally get to the Detour first. They agree that one will work in the back of the bike while the other works on the front.

Vanessa & Pam agree to do the same thing as their jitney is getting close to the Detour.

At the Star Mart, Brett & Kinar get their four boxes and go towards the shelter. Ann & Diane have arrived at the shelter and they were touched by the kids. Who could not be? Oh yes, Pamela. They get their clue and they decide to do Wheel.

The last team, Edwin & Monica finally get on the bus to Manila. Both seem worn out and tired. But it will get worse for them.

On the fourth bus, Sophie is asking locals where the Star Mart is. And we see Paula & Natasha arrive to get their boxes. Adrian & Collin are close behind. These two teams leave the Star Mart together.

Sophie & Aurelia finally get out of their bus and look for a jitney. They find one and head towards the Star Mart.

Rovilson & Marc looked confused as they try to build their bike.

Right now, it’s a race between Paula & Natasha and Adrian & Collin to get to the children’s shelter. Adrian & Collin’s driver was weaving in and out of traffic.

However, Vanessa & Pam’s driver dropped them off in the wrong place and it was Pila Laguna all over again.

Sophie & Aurelia find the Star Mart and they start loading the flagged jitney.

Three teams arrive at the children’s shelter all at once. Brett & Kinar, Adrian & Collin and Paula & Natasha. They all get their clues and all three decide to do Heel.

Over at the Detour, Rovilson & Marc are having trouble putting the bike together. And sisters Vanessa & Pam are
having problems finding their destination.

On the last bus, Edwin changes his clothes.

Finally, Vanessa & Pam find the Detour followed by Ann & Diane. And quickly behind them, heading over in their jitneys are Brett & Kinar, Adrian & Collin and Paula & Natasha.

So the first three teams to arrive at the Detour are all doing Wheel or assembling the bike. The second three teams are doing Heel or putting the 250 pairs of shoes together. We’ll see who finishes first.

Rovilson & Marc look over to the all-girl teams to see how they’re doing and Rovilson says, “They’re doing just like us. Headless chickens.” Speak for yourselves, guys.

Sophie & Aurelia reach the children’s shelter and after getting their clue, they choose Wheel.

Daichi & Sawaka are back in Manila and find a cab to head for the Caltex Star Mart. They eventually get there and load their jitney. They’re on their way to the shelter.

The second three teams have arrived at the Detour to count the shoes.

Rovilson & Marc realize they’ve put the handlebars in the wrong direction. They have to take it off and see where they went wrong. As you can see, they’re a bit embarrassed by the situation. During this re-assembly, four teams arrived at the Detour.

So the teams that did the shoe challenge worked on a system. Brett & Kinar decided to put men’s shoes on one side, women’s on the other. Paula & Natasha said the shoe task wasn’t tough as they both have a lot of shoes. Brett said his shoe collection got bigger once they started dating to which Kinar told him to stop talking. I wonder if we’ll begin to see some more fighting from them. I can only hope.

Daichi & Sawaka reach the children’s shelter and decide to do the bicycle assembly.

Over on the last two buses, both teams eat some cake to get some much needed energy.

At the Detour, Rovilson & Marc work out the handlebar issue and are the first to finish. They get their last clue of this leg and are instructed to go to the pit stop, the Paco Park & Cemetery in Manila.

We’re told by Alan that this was the original resting place of a Philippino hero that has since been converted to a National Park. This is the second pit stop and the last team to arrive will be eliminated. Alan didn’t say “will”, but I am. Rovilson & Marc head out leaving the other teams behind.

Sophie & Aurelia arrive at the Detour and Rovilson & Marc take their jitney to head to the pit stop. Apparently Sophie & Aurelia are having some trouble with their bike. Sophie tries to fix and tells Aurelia, “Don’t touch anything until I tell you to screw.” I don’t think Sophie realizes she told Aurelia to screw and you can see Aurelia gets the meaning. Funny stuff.

Ann & Diane get their clue and they’re second out of the Detour. Paula & Natasha are next as they finish the shoe task. And sisters Vanessa & Pamela are next finishing the bike assembly.

So the three all-girl teams sprint to get a taxi. And Vanessa & Pam have to ask someone to if they can take his taxi.

At the pit stop, Rovilson & Marc arrive first and thus, achieve their goal of finishing first in their home country. And they get US$5,000 on a Standard Chatered credit card. That’s a nice prize.

Paula & Natasha shared a taxi with a woman and took her out of her way to Paco Park, but at least volunteered to pay for it. Ann & Diane had to do the same.

Over at the Detour, Adrian & Collin were next to finish the shoe task.

The last teams were finally getting into Manila. This apparently must have been rush hour because getting cabs was difficult.

Daichi & Sawaka finally reach the Detour and started assembling the bike. And just at the same time, Terri & Henry were arriving at the Star Mart to take the four boxes to the shelter.

Edwin & Monica were bringing up the rear as they found the Star Mart. The teams that have finished the Detour are now speeding towards Paco Park. Terri & Henry have now delivered their supplies and have chosen to do Wheel.

Childhood friends Paula & Natasha reach the mat second and squeal. That’s what girls do.

Brett is having trouble finding one shoe. And over at the shelter, Edwin & Monica have reached it last and get their clue. They decide to do shoes, but on their way to the detour, Monica convinces him that the bike would be quicker.

Brett & Kinar finally finish their task and get their next clue. Over at the pit stop, Ann & Diane arrive in third, their second straight finish in 3rd place, but very much in the top half of the pack.

Aurelia puts the plastic handle onto the bike causing Sophie to yell at her. Funny stuff.

At the pitstop, sisters Vanessa & Pamela and Adrian & Collin arrive. It’s a footrace for 4th and the sisters win it. And the gym buddies are solidly in 5th. Brett & Kinar get to the pit stop, drop their bags and hit the mat in 6th.

Finally, after some more Sophie yelling, the ex-roomies finish assembling the bike and get their next clue.

Believe it or not, Edwin & Monica arrive at the Detour before Terri & Henry and start doing the bike. Daichi & Sawaka are the next to get their clue.

Meanwhile, Edwin starts to chastise Monica as their bike falls apart. He admits he doesn’t know how to put the bike together. This is not good for their team. He pleads for help and asks Monica to hold something up and when she doesn’t do it to his satisfaction he storms off. Way to go, Edwin, you jerk.

Terri & Henry finally arrive in last place, but they finally get to the Detour and it’s been them and Edwin & Monica for 9th and a chance to remain in the race.

Henry says in his confessional that he and Terri talked about it on the way there, that this is his time, he’s the expert on the bikes “or she’s just gotta shut up, not mess with me, not do nothing, it’s gonna be my time.” While it was kind of sexist, it’s actually very funny. And you can see they have an understanding of each other and their dynamic works.

Over to Edwin & Monica where they’re arguing in Cantonese. You know, arguments in Cantonese never sound good and you can see Edwin & Monica’s chances of staying in the race falling apart as he’s chastising her. He repeats, “Put the wheel back on first,” several times and she’s trying to do it, but it’s not working. Edwin can say it was the editing, but he’s really not looking good here. As he’s admonishing her, all the person overlooking their assembly can do is shake his head. And Edwin says to Monica, “You’re pretty useless, man.” Real nice, Edwin.

At the mat, Sophie & Aurelia arrive in 7th. With Daichi & Sawaka, they apparently had an argument in the cab and Daichi said he was tired and didn’t want to run so the siblings just leisurely walked into the mat in 8th. As Daichi said, they took it too far walking to the mat.

Over at the Detour, Edwin’s behavior progressively got worse as he ordered Monica to stand next to the bike, while Henry was able to get finish his bike and was able to leave in 9th.

Edwin asked Monica why there was a gap and all she could do is glare at him. I can’t say I blame her on this.

Mercifully, Edwin & Monica finished their task and headed out in last.

After getting taxis, the last two teams were on their way to the pit stop in which Terri & Henry were able to hit the mat in 9th.

And getting to the pit stop last in a pitiful showing were Edwin & Monica. After billing themselves as the next Rob & Amber, they never got off the ground from the very first leg and never recovered. And after Edwin said Rob & Amber would be scared of him, he ended up in last place. Never come off arrogant in The Amazing Race because the racing gods will make you humble and that’s exactly what happened to Edwin. Served him right.

So our order of finish:

1. Rovilson & Marc – winners of a US$5,000 credit card.
2. Paula & Natasha
3. Ann & Diane
4. Vanessa & Pamela – once again, strong finishes by all-female teams.
5. Adrian & Collin
6. Brett & Kinar
7. Sophie & Aurelia
8. Daichi & Sawaka
9. Terri & Henry
10. Edwin & Monica – mercifully eliminated

Next week, teams find the going emotional and there’s a car accident.
