Univision/Univision Deportes’ Schedule for World Cup Final Sunday

Univision Deportes is going all out for its final World Cup game until at least 2024. As it hands off to Telemundo next year, Univision will provide a full 12 hours of coverage for the World Cup Final in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday. Beginning at 11 a.m. ET and lasting all throughout the night, Univision/Univision Deportes will air programming leading up to and out of the Final between Argentina and Germany.

It begins at 11 a.m. ET with República Deportiva then moves to Camino a la Gran Final an hour later which will include the Closing Ceremonies and a performance by Shakira.

The game will air starting at 2:30 p.m. and that will be followed by the Trophy presentation at 5 p.m. ET. Then there will be plenty of post-game analysis and replays.

MIAMI – JULY 11, 2014 – Univision Deportes’ record-breaking coverage of the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014™ comes to an unforgettable end next Sunday with 12 hours of wall-to-wall live broadcasts packed with thrills, nonstop action and all-out passion for the world’s most beloved sport. After a month of fierce competition, joyous cries of victory and heartbreaking goodbyes, the tournament’s final match will take place in Rio de Janeiro’s Maracaná stadium, where South American giant Argentina will take on the powerful German team on the heels of its historic 7-1 win over Brazil in the semi-finals.

Beginning at 11:00 a.m. ET on the Univision Network and Univision Deportes Network, soccer fans across the U.S. will live and breathe all the excitement surrounding the championship match and the official FIFA closing events taking place before and after. Prior to the game, a spectacular, rhythm-packed Closing Ceremony will feature performances by musical stars Shakira, Wyclef Jean, Carlos Santana, Alexandre Pires, Carlinhos Brown, and Ivete Sangalo, among others. Later, the edge-of-your-seat final match will be followed by the presentation of the coveted World Cup trophy to the winning team by internationally famous Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen.

Univision Deportes’ powerhouse team of highly knowledgeable narrators, commentators and analysts will be on board throughout the day to walk viewers through every electrifying step of the World Cup’s last hours. The play-by-play for the final match will be called by three distinguished sportscasters: Enrique “El Perro” Bermúdez, now on his 10th World Cup; Luis Omar Tapia, a veteran of five previous World Cups; and Pablo Ramírez, former goalkeeper for Liga MX and announcer for seven prior World Cups.
