Univision Sees Ratings Increase for 1st 48 Games of the World Cup

In its last year of airing the FIFA World Cup until at least 2025, Univision is seeing larger numbers from the last World Cup in 2010. Univision says its ratings have increased by 43% in total viewers and by 31% in the coveted 18-49 demographic.

Its USA-Germany viewership was 3.4 million and combined with ESPN’s 10.8 million, that’s a total of 14.2 million viewers which is quite good for a game that aired at noon ET/PT on Thursday.

For Group Play, Univision says it had more viewers than ESPN in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami and Phoenix.

The network also had strong showings in Chicago, New York and Sacramento.

Here’s the Univision press release.
