Why is Skip Bayless so angry and what does he have against Tiger Woods?
Brad Faxon said it best today on WEEI. Why is it such a big deal that ESPN is showing The Masters? USA Network had it last year. People will watch it no matter what network it’s on.
I’m tired of linking to stories about a sports network having a dispute with a cable company. I do it because it’s news, but it’s already been a month since we heard the Big Ten Network was close to a deal with Comcast. The NFL Network is deadlocked with Comcast and Time Warner. Just get the deals done. And one good way to do it is have the cable providers get a small financial stake in both channels. The MLB Network did this as a compromise and as a result, it will launch on most of major cable companies next year.
ESPN did a good job with the NCAA Women’s Tournament this year.
On the other hand, CBS should have sent its studio show to San Antonio for the Men’s Final Four. Very strange to see it in New York this past weekend.
I think Bob Knight is enjoying TV more than he’s letting on.
I look forward to watching the NHL playoffs every year, but I do think Versus shortchanges the league. Yes, the ratings on Versus are up from last season, but can the network keep up the momentum for the postseason?
Fox really needs to hire a play-by-play man who will do the entire MLB season on the network. Joe Buck will do less than 10 games and just one or two after the All Star Game. Thom Brennamen will not do a game after September because he’s calling games for the Big Ten Network. Fox needs to treat baseball better than this.
The International Olympic Committee should end the torch relay before things really get out of hand.
I think Bill Self will stay at Kansas after renegotiating his contract. Just my gut feeling, nothing more.
ESPN needs to stop these talking head shows. I know it needs programming but let’s cancel 1st and 10 and Rome is Burning, but it can keep Pardon The Interruption.
I’m going through massive Amazing Race withdrawal. And I wish CBS would stop treating the show as a bastard stepchild. Big Brother has horrible ratings, but the Amazing Race finished in the Top 20 earlier this season.
Lastly, DEA on Spike is really good.
