Yes, the podcast that Keith Thibault and I recorded regularly into 2010 is back. Our last regular podcast was recorded in August of last year when Keith and I interviewed Scott Ackerson of Fox Sports in advance of the NFL season. Now, after Keith took care of some professional business (all good, I can assure you) and I rearranged some things professionally as well, Keith and I decided to bring the Sports Media Weekly Podcast back and we’re quite happy to do so! I’ve had plenty of pent up frustration not being able to talk about various issues with Keith so I’m glad we have the podcast back.
Of course, we recorded this last week and it’s my fault for not linking to it earlier. Keith being the diligent Southern New England Media Mogul that he is, posted this on his site at Sports Media Journal last Thursday, but for me, it’s better late than never.
In this podcast, there’s no guest, just Keith and I talking back and forth. We discuss the first days of the CBS/Turner collaboration on the NCAA Tournament. We also look at the increased ratings for NASCAR and the PGA Tour. And we get into a discourse on Keith’s series on what’s good and bad in sports media, sports talk radio in particular. We also ask for your help in coming up with a new name for the podcast.
It’s a good effort for our first time back since December 2010 when we did a year in review edition.
I hope you enjoy it. It’s available for download at iTunes under Sports Media Journal or you can hear it right here. And I’ll be sure to post the podcasts the day they’re recorded instead of several days afterward.
