Sports Media Weekly No. 157 — John Ourand, Sports Business Journal and Joe Flint, Los Angeles Times

The Sports Media Weekly podcast is back with another edition. Not only did Keith Thibault of Sports Media Journal and I have a usual “Third Man In” for our News of the Week segment, we had a “Fourth Man In.”

John Ourand of Sports Business Journal was our originally “Third Man In” and then, we had a last-minute addition with Joe Flint of the Los Angeles Times as the “Fourth Man In.” This was so successful, this might become a regular feature.

Here’s what we discussed this week:

  • The new NBC-NASCAR deal leaving ESPN and Turner Sports out in the cold.
  • Whether the Sports Rights bubble is about to burst.
  • The CBS-Time Warner Cable dispute.
  • And Nate Silver joining ESPN.

Not too many subjects, but it’s the quality of the discussion, not the quantity of topics. So give the podcast a listen. It goes quickly and you won’t realize that it goes 27 minutes. As usual, you can find the podcast on iTunes, but you can also listen right away right here.
