Fang’s Bites To Join Awful Announcing

I am happy to announce that I will be joining the great site, Awful Announcing. I’ll be contributing an abbreviated version of the Viewing Picks, doing a regular sports media notebook plus various other stories for the site. I want to thank Matt Yoder, Ben Koo and the fine people at Bloguin for bringing me on board. Since Bloguin took over Awful Announcing from Brian Powell, AA has grown in leaps and bounds. Plus Brian was very nice to this site when it began operation in 2007.

Nothing changes here at Fang’s Bites. I’ll continue to do the Viewing Picks, post the press releases and provide the stories to which you’ve become accustomed since this site began on May 2, 2007.

I want to thank you for the support. Whether you’ve written an encouraging word or given a criticism or disagreed with what I’ve written, it’s always appreciated. It shows that you’re passionate about the subject and in sports media in general.

I also thank the sports network public relations departments for accepting this site as a conduit for information. As much as I pick on ESPN, it was the first network to reach out and send press releases here and I’ve never forgotten the cooperation I’ve received from them on getting statements and e-mails re-sent.

In addition, thank you to the sports media reporters who have answered my questions, appeared on Sports Media Weekly and have helped me over the six years this site has been in operation. Without their encouragement, this site would not have been able to grow.

Also, thanks to USA Today Sports for allowing me to join its network. I’ll still be a part of its brand and as I’ve mentioned, nothing changes here. You’ll still get breaking news and the latest information as fast as I can bring them to you. This has been a whirlwind since May 2, 2007. I was originally happy to get 100 unique visits a day, but that has grown to 2,500 to 3,000 per depending on the news. I’ll continue to serve you for as long as you visit.
