NFL Opts Not To Flex In The First Opportunity In Week 10

Just received from the National Football League, we find that the schedule for Week 10 has been set. This is the first opportunity in the season that the NFL and NBC have to flex a game out of primetime and put another one in its place and both have decided to keep the New England-New York Jets game at the New Meadowlands Stadium on Sunday Night Football.

The NFL has moved the Detroit-Chicago game from its original 1 p.m. ET timeslot into the more attractive 4:15 p.m. window for Fox making it the lead game for the network in the doubleheader. As it stands, there will be 3 games in the late window for CBS and Fox.

We have the complete schedule for Week 10 from the NFL.

The NFL will utilize “flexible scheduling” on Sundays in Weeks 10-15, 17.  Flexible scheduling will ensure quality matchups in all NFL Sunday time slots in those weeks and give teams a chance to play their way onto primetime and into the late-afternoon 4:15 PM ET time slot on CBS and FOX.

For each of the flexible scheduling weeks with the exception of Week 17, the NFL will announce the start times of games on Sundays no later than 12 days prior to that weekend.  To ensure a Sunday night game and doubleheader games with playoff implications in Week 17, the flexible scheduling decision for that Sunday may be made on six days notice.

That will do it.
