Reggie White & Jerome Brown: A Football Life Debuts on Thursday, September 29 at 10:00 PM ET
Following the documentary on New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, NFL Network’s new series A Football Life continues with a profile of the lives and legacies of late teammates Reggie White and Jerome Brown Thursday, September 29 at 10:00 PM ET.

For five seasons, White and Brown were the anchors of a dominant Philadelphia Eagles defense. Despite opposite personalities off the field, the two played side-by-side and developed an enduring bond. Through the words of those who knew them best, including teammates Mike Golic and Brett Favre, players who faced them in Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin and Phil Simms, White’s widow Sara White, and Brown’s sister Cynthia Brown-Jackson, viewers gain an intimate look into their football and personal lives, their unique character traits and how the two legends left an impact that stretched beyond the football field.

Below are quotes from NFL Films President Steve Sabol, and NFL Network analysts Mike Mayock and Jamie Dukes on the two legends:

– “Reggie White and Jerome Brown are football’s version of the ‘Odd Couple.’ In White, you have the preaching defensive end; in Brown, you have the outspoken defensive tackle. In White, you have the guiding influence of a veteran; in Brown, you have the exuberance of youth. Yet when they lined up on the field side-by-side, the perfect chemistry between the two players was unmistakable, the result of which was a defense that was incredible.” – Steve Sabol

– “Big picture, he might be the only defensive linemen I can think of in the history of the game that could line up at all four positions in a four-man front and all three positions in a three-man front and dominate a football game.” – Mike Mayock on Reggie White

– “As players go, I always say this: either you have power guys or speed guys. There were very rarely ever [a player with] both; Reggie was the one guy that had the combination of speed and power from a defensive line perspective where they was just no stopping. I still believe he was the greatest defensive lineman to ever play the game.” – Jamie Dukes on teammate and opponent Reggie White

– “[Jerome] and I, we played against each other in college and we were kind of sown at the hip from that perspective, always battling against each other over the years with Florida State and Miami. The thing about him was he was such a wonderful person; great personality, but what the piece talks about was he lived life fast. He was caught up in the driving of fast cars and all of those things. It was just so unfortunate that his life extinguished because he was such a good person.” – Dukes on Jerome Brown
