NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football Promo Music

This season, NFL Network has been airing a promo for Thursday Night Football depicting people leaving work early to get home to watch the NFL. You’ve seen them, a priest running from church, a businessman leaving work to sit with his friends and so on.

The music is pretty good and I asked NFL Network’s public relations department what song it was. We have it right here. The song is called, “Crank It Up” by the Young Goulets.

It has an Iggy Pop sound and has a “Lust for Life” feel. I like the song. It’s very catchy.

The lyrics are as follows:

Crank It Up – The Young Goulets

Thursday night the music’s loud and it’s time to have some fun
Waited all week to take it off, we ain’t crashing till the dawn
Better catch your breath and splash some water on your face
Cause we ain’t going home until the roof blows off his place

Start it up, mash it up, turn it up loud
Bump it up and rock this crowd

Crank it Up, Crank it Up now
Crank it Up, Crank it Up now
My mama didn’t raise no quitter son
We ain’t leavin’ until it’s done
So Crank it Up

Man I’ve got this feeling that tonight’s a brilliant one
We came here to raise a glass, and chase the risin’ sun
No I don’t care if it’s disco, if it’s punk or rock n roll
the night’s too young and so are we to be worried ’bout our soul

Start it up, mash it up, turn it up loud
Bump it up and rock this crowd

Crank it Up, Crank it Up now
Crank it Up, Crank it Up now
My mama didn’t raise no quitter son
We ain’t leavin’ until it’s done
So Crank it Up

Turn it up louder, a little bit louder 2x
Turn it up louder now, a little bit louder now 2x

Start it up, mash it up, turn it up loud
Bump it up and rock this crowd

Crank it Up, Crank it Up now
Crank it Up, Crank it Up now
My mama didn’t raise no quitter son
We ain’t leavin’ until it’s done
Crank it Up
Crank it Up
Crank it Up

That’s it.
