Free Baseball! On Your iPhone!

This weekend, you can watch plenty of baseball on your iPhone and iPad through the MLB At Bat App. Even though the app is expensive at $14.99, it’s certainly worth it as last week, I was able to see the final moments of the Colorado Rockies no-hitter and did it over AT&T’s overloaded 3G network. The video was actually good quality. And my friends and I were able to see the last outs in real time. Very much worth it. So this weekend, MLB is opening up games on the iPhone for you.

Saturday and Sunday matchups available to all At Bat 2010 subscribers for free

NEW YORK, APRIL 23, 2010 – As a thank you to baseball fans for making At Bat 2010 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad the top paid sports Apps in the App Store, MLB.com announced today that it will offer free live streaming video on those mobile devices via MLB.TV on Saturday, April 24 and Sunday, April 25. This free weekend of MLB.TV will be made available exclusively to At Bat 2010 subscribers on the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, subject to blackout restrictions.

At Bat 2010 provides easy, exclusive and reliable access to live Major League Baseball games for listeners and viewers wherever they are with their iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. Every radio feed, including home- and visiting-team broadcasters, and in-game video highlights are at fans’ fingertips, as is the real-time presentation of official pitch-by-pitch data.

MLB.TV subscribers can watch the live home and away broadcast feeds for every regular season game, subject to blackout restrictions, and get access to interactive features such as up-to-the-minute statistical overlays and controls to pause or rewind live game action.

Of course, the dreaded blackout restrictions means you can’t see games that teams designate as your home area, but for watching out-of-town games, it’ll be worth it.
