ESPN Radio To Unveil New Studios This Week

On Wednesday, ESPN Radio moves into new studios on the ESPN campus in Bristol. To mark the occasion, several ESPN owned-and-operated affiliates across the country are sending their shows to Bristol to broadcast live and to interview various ESPN personalities. And various ESPN affiliates not owned by the network have also made arrangements to air shows live from the new ESPN Radio studios.

Maybe a station in your town will be broadcasting live. Here’s the press release and broadcast schedule.

ESPN Radio to Officially Open New Studios June 1

O&Os & Affiliates Broadcast from “Audio Ave.” at Bristol, Ct. Headquarters

ESPN Radio is using the official opening of its new state-of-the-art studios as an opportunity to host its owned and operated stations and key affiliates June 1 in a special day-long event.

ESPN Radio’s O&Os from New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Dallas will join 13 affiliates broadcasting throughout the day from “Audio Ave.” outside on the quad of ESPN’s headquarters in Bristol, Conn.

Highlighting afternoon activities, recognizing all that ESPN Radio has become, will be the ribbon-cutting ceremony signifying the opening of new customized facilities featuring talk studios, dedicated control rooms and SportsCenter booths.

Those participating in and witnessing “Audio Ave” and the official opening of the network’s studio complex will see how ESPN Radio has grown from simply a terrestrial service to ESPN Audio, a content provider via many platforms.

Along with the hosts and producers broadcasting from “Audio Ave.” other June 1 participants will include network and affiliate management, account executives, program directors, clients, ESPN employees, and those involved with ESPN Audio’s promotions, marketing and sales.

“ESPN Radio consumers are no longer simply radio listeners,” says Mo Davenport, Senior Vice President & General Manager, ESPN Radio Network. “The June 1 festivities will celebrate our commitment to ensure that fans not only get their ESPN Radio content how they want it, but also when they want it, and where they want it.”

The June 1 events will also include a “Faces of Audio” luncheon focusing how radio – particularly the evolution of distributing content – has changed over the years. ESPN Radio hosts Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic (Mike & Mike in the Morning 6-10 a.m. ET M-F), and Colin Cowherd (The Herd 10 a.m.-1 p.m.) will discuss their experiences with host Doug Gottlieb (The Doug Gottlieb Show 4-7 p.m.).
