Fox Sports Florida/Sun Sports Tells Dish Subscribers What They’re Missing

Just received this press release from Fox Sports Florida/Sun Sports and I’m posting it because Amy Pempel, the PR person for the regional sports network, has been very good to Fang’s Bites. I’m not taking sides here. I do have DirecTV, but that satellite provider has had its issues with various companies as well. If Dish Network wants to send a release telling its side of this story, it’s more than welcome to.

Just to give you an update, earlier this month, FX and Fox Sports Net affiliates were pulled from Dish in a dispute with the satellite provider. Fox-owned local stations have also been pulled and it appears some affiliates are in danger of being removed from the satellite provider as well

Here’s what Dish subscribers are missing from Fox Sports Florida and Sun Sports this week.

NO DISH FOR HEAT, MAGIC, LIGHTNING, PANTHERS & MORE
DISH STILL NOT OFFERING FOX SPORTS FLORIDA & SUN SPORTS
NEGOTIATIONS HAVE STALLED; AGREEMENT NOT EXPECTED
Oct. 13 update: Dish Network customers will miss a number of games this weekend and on Monday featuring Florida sports teams. These games will be televised locally on Sun Sports or FOX Sports Florida, but will not be available to Dish customers because Dish dropped Fox’s 19 regional sports networks on Oct. 1.
Tonight            Panthers @ Flames (in S FL) – FS Florida
Friday              Tennessee @ Florida Women’s Soccer – Sun Sports
Saturday          Lightning @ Panthers (in S FL) – FS Florida
Sunday            Georgia @ Florida Women’s Volleyball – Sun Sports
Monday            Bobcats @ Heat (in S FL) – Sun Sports
Magic @ Hawks (in N/Cent FL) – FS Florida
Stars @ Lightning (in N/Cent FL) – Sun Sports
Live SEC, Big 12 & Pac-10 football games scheduled on Sun Sports & FOX Sports Florida tonight and Saturday will also not be available to DISH customers, nor will the popular Sunday replays of the Gator and Seminole football games on Sun Sports.

“The two sides are not actively negotiating and remain at an impasse,” said an FSN spokesperson.

ON NOVEMBER 1, DISH CUSTOMERS MAY ALSO LOSE WTVT (FOX13) IN TAMPA, WOFL (FOX35) IN ORLANDO, AND WOGX (FOX51) IN GAINESVILLE IF A NEW AGREEMENT IS NOT REACHED.
Fortunately, these games, FOX Sports Florida/Sun Sports are offered by a number of other local distributors. For more information, viewers should call 1-877-99-I-PAID or visit www.getwhatipaidfor.com.

Tough sledding for subscribers in Florida looking for hockey, basketball and college sports. As mentioned, Dish Network is invited to give its side to this dispute.
