I watched bits and pieces of the coverage and I call overreaction (or overstating of the "many" who whined to you on Twitter about it). Did Fox fail to air the on-field playing of the anthem before the match? No. Did Fox fail to play the usual Champions League intro/outro video with the anthem on top of it, or overdub it with the NFL on Fox theme? No. The NFL on Fox theme was used only as background music before/after the intro/outro video. You have to accept that if it's on the broadcast network, they're going to find a way to get the NFL on Fox music in there somehow.

Nice write-up Ken, one correction however….

It's NOT the first time a finalist has been able to play on home ground as Bayern is doing right now in Munich……Roma played in the CL Final against Liverpool FC in Roma, Italy in 1984.

PS. However, if Bayern win here (which I believe they'll do, even though it's nil-nil now in the 32nd) it WILL be the first time that a finalist has played on home ground and WON.

There's a potential conflict on the 26th that should be noted: NBCSN had already scheduled a match between the US soccer team vs Scotland at 8pm. At this point, a Stanley Cup Conference Final Game 7 must be given greater importance over any exhibition soccer game.

A real cluster is waiting to happen, unless the West finishes in six games or less.
