383,000 Households Tuned in for the Flyers 5-2 Defeat of the Sabres

PHILADELPHIA (April 27, 2011) – In last night’s Flyers-Sabres Game Seven of the NHL Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, the Flyers defeated the Sabres 5-2 to advance to the next round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The game was the most watched Flyers game in Comcast SportsNet’s history, delivering a 12.6 rating (383,000 households), with a peak delivery of 14.7 (446,000 households) at 9:45 p.m. Last night’s Game 7 ratings bested the previous high set on May 14, 2010 when the Flyers came back from a 3-0 deficit in the game, and in the series, to beat the Boston Bruins and advance to the Stanley Cup Conference Finals.

During the first round of the playoffs, Comcast SportsNet is averaging a 7.8 rating (237,000 HHs), topping last year’s first round by 47%. In 2010, the Flyers defeat of the New Jersey Devils scored a 5.3 rating for the series.

Fans also tuned in before and after last night’s game, with Game 7’s “Flyers Pregame Live” delivering a 2.2 rating (67,000 HHs) and “Flyers Postgame Live” scoring a 2.9 rating (88,000 HHs).

Throughout the playoffs, Comcast SportsNet will continue to have extensive coverage of the Flyers playoff run with reports from Lisa Hillary and Tim Panaccio. On-air, Hillary will have daily reports in “Daily News Live,” “SportsNite,” “Flyers Pregame Live” and “Flyers Postgame Live.” Panaccio will have game previews, post-game recaps and feature stories on CSNPhilly.com.

Comcast SportsNet’s coverage for the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs will be announced on Thursday.

Comcast SportsNet will air “The Ultimate Goal” on Thursday, April 28 at 7 p.m. Thursday’s program will look back at the Flyers first round series against the Sabres and look ahead to their second round opponent. John Boruk will be the host and will be joined by hockey experts including Tim Panaccio, Steve Coates and Chris Therien.
